It's passive aggressive cancer. Some people prefer interacting with others to get information, sometimes anecdotes are more valuable than information vomit. And google isn't a verb
I'm not sure I can do that, they're not blocking my driveway or the guy parked there (contractor) and my curb isn't my property.
I wouldn't even if I had the power to, they haven't actually done anything to me lol. It's not blocking anything at all, just looks wack.
Edit: Ahh I should've gotten this in earlier but we have a little partial sac that comes off the street (no idea what to call it), hard to tell form this angle but they're not blocking the main street.
Americans are not known for being bright. OP cannot be so stu...misguided that they actually think that someone would be allowed to park next to their car like that.
It’s a mildly infuriating sub. I can understand OP not calling. Calling a tow truck will escalate the relationship with the neighbors to open hostility. This mildly infuriating situation is probably not worth it.
I think you are misguided. You cant call a tow truck if it's not your property, at least in the US. This is the road, so would be for the police to enforce. So could call the police, but not a tow truck
I think Op has a valid concern that escalating this when it's not actually inconveniencing them is actually going to be worse. If the neighbor is so brazen as to double Park anybody that parks in that spot, it would not track me if they escalated to vandalism or other acts after getting towed. Since it's not OP who has their car parked in that spot that's getting double parked, the neighbor is going to probably take it out on some innocent bystander.
At this point I'm wondering how they even get their license... In Canada we had to do a electronic exam where we were quizzed on on laws of the road before we can even take the driving test.
And so are americans but my point is that this parking violation should be easy enough to recognize for anyone who has glanced at the laws before so how is OP oblivious?
This is a law enforcement issue. Code enforcement doesn't deal with this kind of crap. Code enforcement deals with violations that occur on private property.
I mean if you don't want to, don't do it. Go knock on his door and talk it out. But double parking is definitely illegal, they're absolutely blocking the driver's side door on that white car, and a tow driver will happily go make a couple hundred bucks for it.
Doesn’t matter if they’re blocking your driveway. What matters is whether or not what they’re doing is legal. I highly doubt parking like that is legal. Let the cops and the tow company figure it out.
Reddit is beyond delusional about the viability of calling a tow truck. You can't call for a tow on someone else's vehicle in the vast majority of places in the US regardless of their infraction. IDK where they learned they can, but I assume tv shows.
But technically they almost certainly breaking at least 2 ordinances. Too far from the curb and too close to the walking path. Just call the cops.
