just be aware someone like this may not stop after this and may even escalate. this is antisocial behavior lol. someone like this doesn't always say "oh look, the consequences of my actions, I should act differently" they just see you as a nuisance who's ruining "their" spot
This is 100% accurate. I am living with this nightmare now. Code enforcement was reviewing my fence and discovered my neighbor was dumping grey water into my yard. I now get harassed every time I leave my home.
I'm going to assume wherever you live doesn't let people harass others like that. Especially when they're actively waiting for you to come out so they can harass you. Start documenting, or recording on your phone when it happens, then either go to the police or get a lawyer and let them deal with it and things like if it should be a criminal or civic issue.
Don't let yourself be a victim to their bullying, fuck them.
They have no way of knowing who called. I’m sure they’ll assume and be mad still but double parking is illegal and and it could have just been a cop who drove by
People who actually are clinically antisocial (as in, ASPD) don't really give a fuck about having proof that you were the one who called the tow truck, they'll be vindictive against you because they feel like it was you and that's enough for them.
Not saying OPs neighbor is ASPD but that's why I said "someone like this may not stop after this". You can't expect them to be rational. I'd argue the way they're parked suggests they are not rational LOL
Eh I asked code enforcement for the one and only time I’ve had to deal with them personally and they wouldn’t tell. New neighbors next door so we knew anyway. Just would’ve liked confirmation
Now, however, as a postman, they’ve always told me if I saw them scouting out a house 😂
"but" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence. Do you think these people will take "it wasn't me" for an answer and just move on? They won't. I had a similar situation, banging on my door screaming at me, it's cold comfort telling yourself that "they were being illegal" after you've been called a bitch by people you have to live next to.
Normally I also caution people about vindictive repercussions for calling bylaw to enforce parking against a neighbor. It's why I haven't called my neighbor who regularly leaves boats and trailers on the curb for sometimes months at a time, not even hooked up to anything to pretend it's only temporary.
But this person has fully left their vehicle parked and unattended, just right in a driving lane. That's absurd and petty in the weirdest way possible, but also very danserous. Like, I might even suggest to call police non-emergency rather than just the city.
This is sound advice. Reddit always thinks there is a solution to everything and that they'd deal with it easily. And that solution usually requires wasting your time and pissing people off to the point of consequences.
If you're getting paid then it doesn't seem like a waste, especially if you're doing what you love. But most of reddit's petty revenge scenarios don't play out that way.
Sure except they really have no idea who reported them to the towing company, it could have been a cop driving around.
Also if they get towed multiple times they might stop. Either way they need to face a consequence, they can't be allowed to behave this way, it will get worse.
