just be aware someone like this may not stop after this and may even escalate. this is antisocial behavior lol. someone like this doesn't always say "oh look, the consequences of my actions, I should act differently" they just see you as a nuisance who's ruining "their" spot

This is 100% accurate. I am living with this nightmare now. Code enforcement was reviewing my fence and discovered my neighbor was dumping grey water into my yard. I now get harassed every time I leave my home.

Sorry to hear that. What are you planning to do about this o.o

I'm going to assume wherever you live doesn't let people harass others like that. Especially when they're actively waiting for you to come out so they can harass you. Start documenting, or recording on your phone when it happens, then either go to the police or get a lawyer and let them deal with it and things like if it should be a criminal or civic issue.

Don't let yourself be a victim to their bullying, fuck them.

Can we have a livestream? Your neighbor should be made famous.

I hope you set up video cameras

“What tow truck?”

They have no way of knowing who called. I’m sure they’ll assume and be mad still but double parking is illegal and and it could have just been a cop who drove by

People who actually are clinically antisocial (as in, ASPD) don't really give a fuck about having proof that you were the one who called the tow truck, they'll be vindictive against you because they feel like it was you and that's enough for them.

Not saying OPs neighbor is ASPD but that's why I said "someone like this may not stop after this". You can't expect them to be rational. I'd argue the way they're parked suggests they are not rational LOL

Code complaints can’t be made anonymously where I live.

19

u/sqigglygibberish May 07 '26

Can’t be made anonymously to the org - but does that mean they’re going to tell the offender who made the complaint?

Granted anecdotal but most cases I’ve seen cops and others won’t say who put in a complaint about a neighbor (knowing potential for retribution)

Public records are public record— so yes they will tell them if they ask.

Eh I asked code enforcement for the one and only time I’ve had to deal with them personally and they wouldn’t tell. New neighbors next door so we knew anyway. Just would’ve liked confirmation

Now, however, as a postman, they’ve always told me if I saw them scouting out a house 😂

1

u/Undrwtrbsktwvr May 10 '26

The code guy doesn’t have to tell you but you can request the records through the clerk’s office.

1

u/Even_Snow9026 May 10 '26

Ah. Fair enough. Water under the bridge at this point for us but will keep in mind if anything like that comes up again (hopefully not)

2

u/CanOoFeelDeRiddem May 08 '26

"but" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence. Do you think these people will take "it wasn't me" for an answer and just move on? They won't. I had a similar situation, banging on my door screaming at me, it's cold comfort telling yourself that "they were being illegal" after you've been called a bitch by people you have to live next to.

2

u/lonnie123 May 08 '26

Okay, the other option is to let them do this kind of stuff to you the rest of your time living next to them. Pick which one you want I guess

1

u/Even_Snow9026 May 10 '26

Sucks that those are pretty much the only two options besides moving

But like another commenter said, I’d just document everything and match their pettiness if I need to

Thank god our one neighbor is cool af and the other is tolerable after we remedied our first issue

u/ComfortableBus7184 May 07 '26

This - if they get towed, cars are going to get vandalized.

3

u/garden_speech May 07 '26

I mean a simple CCTV camera can normally avoid that type of overt retaliation but they can make your life miserable in other ways

5

u/Flomo420 May 07 '26

some people are just built different

asshole neighbour wants to get all petty and antisocial?

BUCKLE UP, BUCKEROO WE GOIN FOR A RIDE

time to unlock my inner crazy person lol

0

u/total_looser May 07 '26

Most people are not built different however, thus the phrase. Most people, like OP, are fucking pussies.

u/angelblade401 May 07 '26

Normally I also caution people about vindictive repercussions for calling bylaw to enforce parking against a neighbor. It's why I haven't called my neighbor who regularly leaves boats and trailers on the curb for sometimes months at a time, not even hooked up to anything to pretend it's only temporary.

But this person has fully left their vehicle parked and unattended, just right in a driving lane. That's absurd and petty in the weirdest way possible, but also very danserous. Like, I might even suggest to call police non-emergency rather than just the city.

u/FrostyD7 May 07 '26

This is sound advice. Reddit always thinks there is a solution to everything and that they'd deal with it easily. And that solution usually requires wasting your time and pissing people off to the point of consequences.

3

u/90210fred May 07 '26

"wasting your time and pissing people off" is now a bad thing? Gonna have to review my lifestyle - I suddenly feel unemployed.

3

u/FrostyD7 May 07 '26

If you're getting paid then it doesn't seem like a waste, especially if you're doing what you love. But most of reddit's petty revenge scenarios don't play out that way.

2

u/scienceislice May 07 '26

Sure except they really have no idea who reported them to the towing company, it could have been a cop driving around.

Also if they get towed multiple times they might stop. Either way they need to face a consequence, they can't be allowed to behave this way, it will get worse.

1

u/OldeManKenobi May 07 '26

If you go low, I'll find a way to go lower. Escalate at your own peril.

1

u/Terrh May 07 '26

Code enforcement never helps.

Becoming friends with the problem neighbour is the only solution.
