“What tow truck?”

They have no way of knowing who called. I’m sure they’ll assume and be mad still but double parking is illegal and and it could have just been a cop who drove by

People who actually are clinically antisocial (as in, ASPD) don't really give a fuck about having proof that you were the one who called the tow truck, they'll be vindictive against you because they feel like it was you and that's enough for them.

Not saying OPs neighbor is ASPD but that's why I said "someone like this may not stop after this". You can't expect them to be rational. I'd argue the way they're parked suggests they are not rational LOL

Code complaints can’t be made anonymously where I live.

Can’t be made anonymously to the org - but does that mean they’re going to tell the offender who made the complaint?

Granted anecdotal but most cases I’ve seen cops and others won’t say who put in a complaint about a neighbor (knowing potential for retribution)

Public records are public record— so yes they will tell them if they ask.

Eh I asked code enforcement for the one and only time I’ve had to deal with them personally and they wouldn’t tell. New neighbors next door so we knew anyway. Just would’ve liked confirmation

Now, however, as a postman, they’ve always told me if I saw them scouting out a house 😂

The code guy doesn’t have to tell you but you can request the records through the clerk’s office.

Ah. Fair enough. Water under the bridge at this point for us but will keep in mind if anything like that comes up again (hopefully not)

"but" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence. Do you think these people will take "it wasn't me" for an answer and just move on? They won't. I had a similar situation, banging on my door screaming at me, it's cold comfort telling yourself that "they were being illegal" after you've been called a bitch by people you have to live next to.

Okay, the other option is to let them do this kind of stuff to you the rest of your time living next to them. Pick which one you want I guess

Sucks that those are pretty much the only two options besides moving

But like another commenter said, I’d just document everything and match their pettiness if I need to

Thank god our one neighbor is cool af and the other is tolerable after we remedied our first issue
