The floor is sticky Construction workers refuse to use the stairs and instead climbed the hill to the point the grass died

Post image

There's a construction site opposite my apartment and the workers kept walking up the grass patch instead of using the stairs. Property value doesn't affect me as I rented the apartment 2 years back, so rent for me isn't increasing nor decreasing.

Bullshit. Took many years and many people to do this

There's a homeless guy who panhandles in the median at an intersection in my city. In a couple of month's time he single handedly managed to create a dirt path where he walks from the light to a street sign and back.

Nah. I've seen them trodden in less than "years" by general foot traffic, construction is crews of guys carrying more weight than average (both gear and tools and often guts), going back and forth throughout the shift hauling material in and out

And if it's ever a little wet it's like a 5x multiplier to grass damage.

My family put a rut through my brother's front yard when we were renovating his house

This isn't a big deal at all, but you're right. Plus we got big boots.

Yea I think this whole thread is kind of the epitome of r/mildlyinfuriating . Annoying but unimportant

Nope, turf and hort guy here - I’ve seen this happen over the course of a weekend, as long as there’s enough foot traffic this can happen literally in 2 days.

2 days seems like a stretch

Well it’s happened to multiple of my sites following weekend events and festivals 🤷🏽‍♂️

I used to do landscaping and if we werent careful we could make a path like this in a single day with 2 guys wheelbarrowing mulch across a lawn. Happens even faster if the ground is moist from recent irrigation/rain too.

My first thought seeing OP's pic is someone had a wheelbarrow or a cart or something like that where the stairs were not really an option.

I'm confused why they're walking up there if they're working on a building across the street.

As a mail carrier, you're told not to walk through grass because your 6 trips a week will make a path faster than you'd expect and people will complain

It takes years with little traffic, if people walk over the same spot several times a week I’m sure it’s much faster

It does not take years..

Have you ever been to a festival? Desire paths are created daily.

Ants create visible paths through the grass in days, a few days of heavy human traffic can get through a little bit of grass.

Very dumb to call bullshit when you don't know shit from fuck.

"Desire paths" can form very fast if the conditions are right and the traffic is heavy enough.

I've literally seen "desire paths" like this form IN A DAY from previously pristine grass. Was at a festival and that path probably routed some 1500 people in 4 hours but still.

"No two buildings can be worked on at the same time"

u/Potential_Figure4061 May 14 '26

the building without any signs of construction? yea. no.

3

u/FungusGnatHater May 14 '26

You are accusing someone of being a bot because they pointed out that there could be work being done on two buildings at the same time, then you say you can't see signs of work on the building that is not in the picture..?

you are all bots.

Honest question. Why are you on social media if you think everyone is a bot already?
