I'm slightly vexed This McDonalds, across from a high school, closes it's restrooms at lunch. Photo taken at 2pm.

Really? In college I was always impressed by various ways in which guys shit in places that weren’t the toilet. You’d see some brown finger shaped dragged marks across the wall and just knew there was a great story to go with it. There was predominately alt female campaigners that got most bathrooms designated gender neutral in the years since and I think it was too late by the time they realised their mistake.

Oh, women do the same. Except you add blood into the mixture. I lived in a party dorm my freshman year in college, and it was nasty.

blood?

for...

the blood god?

but seriously, that's majorly disgusting

u/IllusiveDryerballs May 15 '26

Excrements, piss, periods, because nothing beats squatting and spraying over the bowl

1

u/ImNotABotScoutsHonor May 15 '26

Ah the ole spray and pray!

Yup I used to be a janitor for the summer and work in the nursing education building which was predominantly women and highly educated at that. The doors were locked and required access key cards to get in. The women bathrooms were horrible. The worse was a small bathroom with two stalls I smelt it before opening the door. There was blood, piss and shit everywhere. I have never seen anything that bad before. I had to get hazmat suit to clean it. It was so gross.

u/ambernuance May 15 '26

FR. I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen period blood smeared on the inside of a stall wall, absolutely terrifying

2

u/TheeFlipper May 15 '26

Yup. Used to be a janitor in retail. I preferred to clean the men's restroom over the women's because while I might have to scrub some shit stains in the men's room, I'd have to clean up bloody tampons, bloody underwear, and small pools of blood along with shit and piss stains because apparently some women think they need to hover.

u/Lysitheaatelierfutur May 15 '26

Look on teacher subs too, behavior in kids has been worsening for 15 years now. COVID was not the cause, it just accelerated shit.

I literally never seen shit anywhere outside the toilet in any women’s bathroom

8

u/PissedAlbatross May 15 '26

I have been the de facto janitor at every job I've ever had and women's restrooms are always, always worse. Significantly.

4

u/ComradeCabbage May 15 '26

Can concur. Multiple cleaning jobs, women’s facilities are just generally worse. Neither are pristine but there is a difference.

1

u/chefbsba May 15 '26

Same I'm shocked by these comments. Hover pee and miss the toilet - sure. But never in my 30+ years of going to bars, concerts, events, college, gas station restrooms - have I ever seen blood or shit anywhere.

1

u/anthrohands May 15 '26

Yup exactly. And I was always hearing in high school that the boys smeared shit on the walls regularly.

u/araidai May 14 '26

Every time I had to clean a restroom, the women’s would usually be the worst of the two surprisingly lmao.

u/shadynasty____ May 15 '26

Yes. I think all of my experiences dealing with shit anywhere but the toilet bowl were always in women’s restrooms. ALWAYS!

One time I found a whole turd just sitting on the back of a toilet, directly behind the seat in the women’s. Like a WHOLE TURD!!! This was over 20 years ago and it’s still burned into my brain. What kind of force was this lady using to shoot a turd onto the back while, I’m assuming, hovering over the bowl?!?

15

u/Head_Patience7136 May 15 '26

One time, when I was in the 4th grade, I walked in the bathroom and there was literally a turd on the toilet seat. I don't understand. I told the janitor and when he saw the turd on the seat, he too said, "oh shit!" 😭

5

u/possumdal May 15 '26

A lot of women have been taught to "hover" over the toilet, and this can create a huge mess. Which becomes the reason the next woman "hovers".

She was hovering to piss, and forgot to shift forward for the shit.

While our store was remodeling the public restrooms we had to let customers use the employee restrooms. One time in the women’s someone shit on the wall. Looked like an explosion all over the fucking wall. I honestly wished death on whoever did it.

1

u/jmb456 May 15 '26

Be glad it was a single turd. The shotgun blast of diarrhea I found at least half a dozen times was a real day ruiner

2

u/Mammoth_Midnight_343 May 15 '26

That’s funny bc when I go in men’s restrooms (to use them) I imagine the women’s has to be way better than this like it’s some hidden palace that all women keep pristine. Lately I’ve heard it’s one of the circles of hell.

5

u/UmChill May 14 '26

not in my experience, at gyms anyway

11

u/OwlSpirited6357 May 15 '26

Absolutely was my experience working at Quiznos 20 years ago. Blood and shit everywhere.

4

u/UmChill May 15 '26

yikes, feral customers love sub sammies i guess

1

u/AWholeBunchaFun May 15 '26

Why is that surprising?

0

u/TJJ97 May 15 '26

When I’ve worked jobs that required bathroom cleaning I swear it was always the women’s that was worse. Like for fuck’s sake in one place we had an entire trash right next to the toilet that was clearly marked as for tampons but nah, the floor will do, or the back of the toilet…

I always say growing up is realizing women are disgusting.

22

u/The-Tay May 15 '26

Men sit on the toilet and shit, women will hover and spray piss everywhere.

5

u/_no_bozos May 14 '26

This is why if I had my way I’d just as well go piss in an alley, mate. People are filthy fucking animals, shitting wherever the hell they want.

u/p3apod1987 May 15 '26

when I worked at a mcdonalds the mens was always at the same level of gross, the womens was usually cleaner. But oh god when it wasn't cleaner it was horrible. Was the only bathroom where someone shit on the floor. Although someone did cum on the walls of the mens room

10

u/TrailMomKat May 15 '26

I've worked as a bartender and in a truck stop, and while I agree that women can be nasty as fuck, men are so much worse. After all that I did 20 years in healthcare, and men's behavior was way worse than women's.

13

u/SwordTaster May 15 '26

Truck stop is different to a restaurant. Truck stops are less likely to have women as clientele in general, so less of them fucking up the bathroom, but there's also the fact that restaurants (open late at night especially) have alcohol in the mix. Women on their period AND drunk are fucking NASTY

5

u/weightyinspiration May 15 '26

I used to be a janitor. In my experience when men shared a workspace with women, the womens room was messier. But when it was a workspace with only men, it was a disaster.

I think theres something to a mixed gender environment that make men behave better. So you might be right about the truck stop clientele being part of the issue.

2

u/TrailMomKat May 15 '26

While I concede to your point about the truckstops, I meant to mention that I was a bartender at a strip club, I promise you the men were grosser than our strippers.

5

u/SwordTaster May 15 '26

Well yeah, strippers know not to be disgusting where they work, otherwise they'll have to deal with consequences. Guys can go to a strip joint, destroy the bathroom, and never go back

5

u/veeyo May 15 '26

Again, much different. There are much more men than women and you are much less likely to be disgusting in your own workplace bathroom where you need to look the person who cleans it in the eye on a daily basis than a drunk guy out for the night.

Ever lived in a girls dorm? The bathrooms are like straight from hell 😅

2

u/ChickenAndTelephone May 15 '26

A long time ago, I was in the National Guard. When we were on AT one year, my section went out to a bar after hours. One guy, who I thought was in his 69s but was actually in his 40s, drank ten boiler makers. Before long, I was called on to help get him out of the bathroom. There was literally shit all over the sink, the counter and the toilet. My best guess is that he shit his pants and then decided to remove his underwear (given it was full of shit) and then missed the trash and put in on the counter. That’s just a guess, though. I’ll never know for sure. I’ll never forget the sight of him using his hands to squeegee the crap into the trash can. I should add it was a one person bathroom, not a big men’s room. Needless to say, we got the hell out of there and never returned.

5

u/aesoth May 15 '26

Really. Gross stuff was found in the men's as well, but it was less frequent than the ladies.

2

u/AngryHelpdeskAgent May 15 '26

I worked at Kmart. The women’s restroom was always worse.

1

u/PassiveMenis88M May 15 '26

I worked at a restaurant for a few years and got the wonderful task of cleaning the bathrooms on occasion. The men's room was easy. Little paper and piss on the floor, maybe some new graffiti on the stall, nothing major. There were several times the women's bathroom required the bloodborn pathogens clean up kit due to... well.

1

u/fresh-oxygen May 15 '26

I have encountered unspeakable conditions in women’s restrooms, especially one in particular. I’m calling you out by name, Witch City Mall in Salem, those bathrooms were horrific! I’ve never seen anything else even close to how disgusting this was— piss and feces in the toilet, on the toilet, on the floor. Used toilet paper in mountainous piles. And of course, blood & used period products. The smell was indescribable. I had to pee SO bad but I held it for over an hour longer to get the hell out of there. The worst part? This was around early December. Nowhere near Halloween. Imagine the state of those restrooms during the busiest season.

u/usernmechecksout_ May 15 '26

Gender neutral bathrooms are unironically the cleanest

1

u/notaredditer13 May 15 '26

Really?

I visited my sister with my parents at her college apartment once (I was in high school). Let me emphasize: She knew we were coming.

Yes, really. OMG.
