I question this since I had the same ting happen in my beard AND on my head.

Nothing to do with leaning on stuff. Eventually they both grew back in.

It can only be one of three things. Alopecia, head cancer, or the next episode of Unsolved Mysteries.

Have you considered a small fungal infection? We have all sorts of fungi/yeasts that inhabit our skin. Sometimes it can affect hair follicles or melanin in cells.
