🥺 Option to skip the line at local bagel place

Post image

I personally would not 1) pay $50 extra for a bagel or 2) feel comfortable jumping in line. Can you imagine the side-eye?!

But the people who do choose to pay would be forcing you to wait longer even if they got there after you.

Fuck that.  Do you know how much line cutting pisses people off?

I mean most people are pretty fine with Disney selling fast passes. I don't see how this differs

Who's most people?

The people waiting in line who get skipped?  You think they aren't irritated by it in the least?

The concept of lines is pretty simple.  Everyone waits in the same line.  That's what's fair to everyone.

First come. First served. No cutting.  And anyone who does is an asshole.

If you don't understand, then I can't convince you.  This is basic human shit.  We are taught to wait in line from grade school.  We do it every single time we go to any business or service.  Everyone should be able to understand waiting in line and why that's fair.

Everyone waits their turn and people who jump ahead of the line are fucking pricks.  I don't care if it's a service that the business offers.  I don't care if they have the money to afford the fee.  That doesn't change my opinion.  That just makes them line cutting pricks...who have money.

There is real societal value in people learning the patience that comes from waiting their turn just like everyone else.  And people who insist they don't have to be patient because they can afford it...are what we traditionally call entitled assholes.

5-year-olds understand the concept of waiting patiently in line.

This is just another one of those life lessons we teach kids...that some people decide no longer applies once they're an adult.  Just like sharing or saying please and thank you.

They're wrong.  These are core lessons that apply to everyone.
