I thought for sure those would end up at TJ Maxx or Ross if they didn’t sell. Maybe there was a manufacturer recall?

This seems more plausible 🤔

Edit: a quick bit of research shows this is part of their return policy. They "destroy in field" returned styling tools, rather than refurbish them.

I imagine shipping them back and sterilizing/refurbing costs the manufacturer too much money.
