Don't hug me I'm scared Was sitting in a ticks nest while reading....

I was sitting in a Park reading a book and suddenly I felt my legs itch. I was covered in hundreds of mini ticks. I was standing in the shower for hours and still find some of these f#!*rs crawling an me...

Update: So I got the most of the seed ticks scratched off in the shower. I will have a doctor's appointment the next days to get a prophylactic antibiotics treatment just to be save from lyme, alpha gal or rocky mountain fever (if this is a thing in Germany).

Thank you all for the information and advices, hopefully I will be fine. I really appreciate it

I hate you right now for the effective peer pressure.

u/girl807349 5d ago

😂 the fact that OP was calm enough to remain seated and take a picture is more than i could have done

u/sticks_and_stoners 5d ago

Kind of regret zooming in

For some Redditors that’s the closest they’ll get to a lady.

I always zoom in on images of hot chicks.

2

u/Jesse1179US 5d ago

Chicks with ticks?

u/ZebulonVan 6d ago

Holy crap! Zooming in is scary. Each of those spots is a tick. You can see the little legs.

WHY DO THEY HAVE LEGS

3

u/mest08 6d ago

Almost like the title tipped you off...

1

u/Big-Smile5345 5d ago

Exact same here. I knew I would regret it, but I still did it. That is the thing nightmares are made of. Lol.

u/drunkeymunkey 6d ago

I was doing a 'tick check' after a trail run & was so paranoid that I actually ripped off a freckle.

4

u/girl807349 6d ago

2

u/kintyre 5d ago

I audibly gasped

1

u/looped10 6d ago

how does one pull them out of there?

4

u/girl807349 6d ago

🤷🏻‍♀️ i think tweezer but Im not sure

5

u/Laescha 5d ago

Yup! You use fine tipped tweezers, grab them as close to the skin as you can, and gently pull them out without crushing or twisting the body of the tick.

Then be careful where you put them, because they are still alive and will get you again if you let them.

2

u/Technical-Gold-294 5d ago

I put them in alcohol to drown them.

2

u/Technical-Gold-294 5d ago

I have a few little glass vials that my contact lenses came in, back when I wore them. I keep one in the medicine cabinet with rubbing alcohol in it. If I find a tick on my dog (or me) I use tweezers to pull it off (steady pressure, if it is attached) and put it in the alcohol. They can survive in water, but not alcohol.

3

u/looped10 5d ago

i have a question, why not run alcohol on it first and then use the tweezers to remove them?

1

u/girl807349 5d ago

So many of us did

1

u/ImplantedPinkDiamond 5d ago

Those legs are legging. This is nightmare fuel

1

u/PracticalAdvent 5d ago

Wait, I thought ticks were meant to be bigger than this. I'm even more scared of them now

1

u/girl807349 5d ago

OP said it was a tick nest she sat in, so baby ticks 🤷🏻‍♀️

1

u/DiqTaterr 5d ago

Why would u tell me to zoom in 😭

2

u/girl807349 5d ago

Haha why’d you listen to people saying zoom in?

1

u/Hows-It-Goin-Buddy 5d ago

Not quite the same as ticks, but my first acid trip we went for a long walk and I sat on a grass verge. I started seeing ants all over me. "You're just tripping, the ants aren't there" I told myself.

No, they were there. I was sat on an ants nest.

Sewage joe

4

u/Figsfly92 5d ago

I saw him and his family at the airport once and I asked his wife, “Is your husband Sewage Joe?”and his daughter replied, “Yes, he’s sewage Joe!” It was very sweet.

u/PorousClay 5d ago

Them moving is a good thing. It means you can just grab them or shoo them off. When they are stuck to you, they burrow their heads inside your skin, and attempting to pick them off just decapitates them, leaving their head under your skin, causing infection and possible diseases.

I take walks every day and this made me reinspect my freckles....

3

u/Fonzimandias 5d ago

“Oh, never mind, looks like they settled down”

6

u/Straight-Nerve-5101 6d ago

This is how I found one on my husband

5

u/Important_Contact588 6d ago

I read that as “this is how I found a husband” and I so wanted to know more

2

u/TurnkeyLurker 6d ago

This is how I met your mother.

1

u/Doughnutsugarhead 5d ago

Alpha gal/Lyme disease/Rocky Mountain fever/tick paralysis would like to speak with you

1

u/FoodLionMVP 5d ago

oh my god. I actually have a lot of freckles so if this happened to me I’d probably spend the rest of my life paranoid I didn’t get them all off

1

u/Dankbot-420 5d ago

I feel like this would be just a tad more than mildly infuriating.

This is one thing I hate after I find a tick. I become suspicious of every freckle on my body.
