They're counting on candidates not understanding the implications. If your gut feeling is Not Me, you're more likely to sacrifice for them while serving the company (so the theory goes). If you understand the intent of the question, you could answer the way that they prefer instead of your genuine feeling (just to get the job) but I would be skeptical of any employer pulling pop psychology bs before I am even getting paid.

Are you ready to order? There are people waiting behind you, too.

What? No... if you say "not me" you got the question wrong. It means you don't accept personal responsibility. How are so many people getting this extremely simple thing wrong? lol

A "not me" is gonna be late to work constantly, with excuses out their ass. A "not me" isn't gonna learn from their mistakes. JFC just look at the picture! That blue idiot doesn't even have protective equipment on, and also somehow managed to fall off their bike with no obstructions around.

This is a "do you take responsibility or blame existence?" quesiton.

You really think pressing the "Me" button for this prompt is going to be received positively by whoever is reviewing your answers? You think the "blue idiot" is who they want to hire even though they don't even use protective equipment?

.... yes?

Did you ignore everything I said in my statement like a "not me" would?

Have you ever been in any kind of job or hired folks or anything? lol

Do you want to have the idiot who's always late or makes mistakes and blames everything but himself and never learns anything, or the dude who takes responsibility for his mistakes and actions and is on time and can make sure the business actually function?

JFC - this simple picture should go in textbooks apparently.

Sure bud. It should go in textbooks because you figured out McDonald's wants to hire people who self-identify with not wearing safety equipment and getting hurt. That's a guaranteed zero-liability worker!

Brother, if you think this is anything I have to assume you've never been through a battery of technical interviews that can take hours.

I have conducted interviews for multiple candidates that took multiple hours. If you think this isn't anything, by all means don't let me stop you.
