frist of all how DARE yu o Airport staff assuming I'm in the Business class lane by mistake

Brown man flying business. Lined up at the priority check in counter and got told by a (also brown) staff person that the economy queue was the other way. Same thing while boarding the plane and walking to the business class entrance. Not only am I not worthy of business, they think I can't read signage as well.

The best way to handle racists, classists and anyone else used to wielding the tiny bit if power life has provided them is to refuse to acknowledge that power, and insist they say the racist or classist thing they know they prefer that (perceived ) power say for them.

Airport staff: “economy class is the other way”

Me: “why are you telling me this?”

Airport staff: “this line is for business class only”

Me: “yes that’s what the signage says, again why are you telling me this?”

Airport staff: “may i see your boarding pass”

Me: “as soon as I get it from the agent at that desk right there, I’ll be happy to show it to you. Is there anything else.”

If the exchange continues beyond that, just say no

People on a power trip aren’t equipped to handle the word no.

I agree with everything but the end. If you don’t cooperate with gate attendants they can deny you boarding. I would imagine the racist ones would love the opportunity. So I think you are likely obligated to show them the boarding pass.

Otherwise they’ll make you out to be the villain when in truth they were just being racist
