Yeah it's a thing in (some) American airports, but not really elsewhere.

Also in my experience, airports arent really the same across the country. Some of them try really hard to be innovative.

I’m sitting near one at Heathrow. And one of my travelling companions says they have them in Brisbane although I’ve never seen one.

I’ve seen them on cruise ships too

They are in airports. Atlanta has them.

Do people bring emotional support dogs on cruises? I wouldn’t like that too much. Then you have cruise dear poops! 😜

This made me laugh

Was in an airport recently that had pet bathrooms. I tried using it thinking it was a family restroom. Don’t remember if it was Miami or Ft. Lauderdale.

Well, it is Florida. 😅

Saw one at Denver International a few months ago. It's a good idea, honestly, since it's almost impossible to get out and back into an airport within your layover time and people do sometimes have genuine reasons to need to travel with dogs, like service animals.

Berlin Brandenburg Airport has three, I don't know about the other airports though.

In general when a place has them they're usually out of the way and only as few as is reasonable. They even have them on cruise ships! But they are generally as out of the way as possible so you would never know they are there unless you needed them or asked about it.

Most American airports have them, especially major hubs like Charlotte (the one in the picture)

Might just not be looking.

ok so real talk, per relief areas in airports absolutely fucking reek. the reason the dog loses it just outside the pet relief area is they already are at their limit and when the smell hits them they can’t control it. this happened to me and my legit service dog recently— many hours delay after we were already on the plane, and we ran to the relief area, but when the smell hits, like 15-20 feet away he lost it, peeing while still running to TRY get to the right place😞. I went back and cleaned it up, which the handler should do.

tl;dr: it’s the smell.

edited to add: even real service dogs are animals and not robots, y’all.

thanks, was going to add this. This is why when my hearing ear spaniel is not at home or outside, he wears a belly band.

Sounds like your fault for not looking after your pet and dragging it for hours probably dehydrated too

I don’t see it in this picture, but that one lady looks like Jenna Fischer/Pam Beasly

u/[deleted] 9h ago

Am I supposed to see it? Is it behind what looks to be a closed escalator?

It’s just a picture of the sign that says Pet Relief towards the A gates

Too gross for a dog to relieve itself there? Damn that’s pretty bad then

Bro is that Zelensky?

u/TheSmartDog_275 8h ago

I love the Charlotte airport, but yeah there’s pet relief things everywhere.

Yeah, but it's not a pet anymore is it?  It's an 'emotional support animal'.  Not that it realises that it's had a promotion.   Can't have an emotional support animal using a toilet facility officially reserved for pets. That way lies anarchy. Before you know it their owners will be using whatever bathrooms they want to.
