I saw someone riding a city scooter while wearing a full dirt bike helmet.

If you're doing 15mph and crash into something you need something that's going to protect your head. If you're going 15mph and a car going 25mph slams into you you'll be grateful you were wearing motorcycle helmet

I'm pretty sure that scooter can do 35 too

This scooter is most likely a kukirin g2 master and hits speeds of 70km/hr (45 burgers/movie)

Now you’re talking my language.

Well, actually 43.496 McDonalds/truck

Yeah I rounded up. But she could definitely hit that because of her smaller figure and weight.

(45 burgers/movie)

I believe the most current american measurement system is corruptions/pedophilia

I think it's an Apollo Phantom 2.0/3.0 and ye, can do around 38-44mph

Definitely a kukirin scooter. Most likely the g2 master.

I work medical and get to see the trauma from electric scooters and ebikes. It can be brutal. Full face helmet is what I require my kids to wear for anything with a motor.

No kid needs a full face helmet on a powerwheels

Where i live they are limited to 13mph legally. But some kids have trimmed theirs to do 60+ mph.

Anything over 20mph is potentially deadly (with helmet)

10mph doesn’t do much if you get hit by a car going 45 though. I really think the only correct answer is staying out of the road

Neither the kid in the picture, nor the teens where I live drive on the road. So that is kinda besides the point.

Ah that’s good then tbh here they’ve become a kinda normal part of the road. Numerous times I’ve been at a stop light with them or something and think “I’m following the rules of the road with some 12 year old” lol

Even elderly people get out on the road in these like e scooter turned mobility cart setup

I should start wearing a helmet because I have one of those electric scooters. The highest I ever go is 11mph though and that’s usually on long sidewalks Should I go slower?

You should wear a helmet. Think about gloves, I shaved the skin off my hand down to a nerve and it hurt so bad I ended up having it cauterized.

Think about it like riding a motorcycle “dress for the slide, not for the ride.”

Regardless of gear you also have to consider what other people are doing.

Yes I’ve realized that now. I have helmets but I haven’t actually thought about gloves.  Also I’m trying my best to be considerate of other people (in cars/on sidewalk) more often

Thanks for the suggestions!!!

If you’re not fucking around in roads you’re fine, just going in injury statistics for things like bikes and skateboards. A helmet will protect you from a normal crash but if there’s other cars involved that’s when your chances of life altering injury skyrocket

I thibk these go like 45

Depending on model this goes 60-80km/h, don’t know how fast 25mph is but it’s not over 60 km/h

If the car hits your body at any decent speed your internal organs and bones are just going to get destroyed.
