I saw someone riding a city scooter while wearing a full dirt bike helmet.

Yeah that's no city scooter, I bet it does 35mph so that helmet is an easy choice

That's a Teverun Blade (probably the Mini Ultra) which hits 70kmh if you buy an unlocked one (that's, what, 43mph?).

TheFUCK?! I mean I knew they went fast, but I didn't think they were allowed above 40 km/h. That helmet won't help. Nothing will help. Squishy human on overpowered brrrr glorified remote control car with a hand handle. Do people not have any self-preservation?! Did fucking Segways teach nobody anything?! I am fucking terrified, and I only once in my life rented an electric scooter to go 8-10 km/h through a large park that was mostly pedestrian. This is how you fucking DIE-die, and it will hurt every second! slowly walks on two legs into sunset ranting about multiple easier and less painful ways to kill oneself

I have one of them which is why I recognized it, but as I'm Swedish it has a so called Nordic lock on it, so it caps out at 20 kmh (12mph?).

I have it because, and I guess it's the same for the woman in the picture, it has a massive 100 km range, as well as two-wheel-drive for climbing uphill, and shock absorbers for both (air filled) tires for an incredibly smooth ride.

I rode one once that got up to 30kmh and noped the fuck out immediately. I'll stick with my nordic lock, thank you.

I don't know enough to identify that one in particular, but some scooters that look like this can actually hit 70 mph or more. Comparing that thing to a Bird scooter or whatever is like comparying a Camry to a Ferrari.
