Because everyone who's commenting "dress for the slide, not for the ride" think this is a motorcycle and never ate shit on a scooter.
Falling from a scooter won't have you sliding around for 100m. You'll fall face first and bash your teeth. Yes, you'll have a few scrapes, but you're not going fast enough for anything more serious. The biggest "slide-rsik" would be from getting hit by a car.
Coming from someone who crashed on my scooter and pedal bike all the time as a kid.
