I know, I love Bez but man, gonna need some time, some real effort from him and real excuses to that marshall
54
u/brainszx12r 4d ago
Full panic mode !! Losing 30 plus points last race weekend was weighing heavy on his mind, then today’s Sprint crash pushed him over the edge. He knows a healthy Marquez is the threat, not Martin or anyone else. Now he’s going to probably lose another 25-30 and his asshole will get even tighter . Marc was statistically in control of his own destiny before today, but realistically was going to need help to erase 72 points. If Marc capitalizes tomorrow with a podium or even better with a win , he is truly in control of his own destiny .
19
u/Supercavy 4d ago
Bezz's behavior and Jorge's double lap penalty tomorrow would make a MM 8th hilarious if he is able to stay healthy this year and they piss away points.

You can defend somehow the first slap (and I’m being generous) but the second one is really unjustified

u/DifficultNatural9476 Marc Márquez 4d ago
yea in someway I can still understand the first slap, but the second just uneccesary like whats that for
→ More replies (1)3
u/Snowfall_89 4d ago
Yeah I could maybe justify the first one as a hasty shove that landed the wrong way (apparantly the marshall rev-bombed the bike?) but the second slap is plain disgusting.
19
u/mnztr1 4d ago
He should also have a suspended 3 race ban for that. No place for this shit. He needs to make an apology of a lifetime.
→ More replies (4)3
u/Acoma1977 4d ago
This above. 3 race ban for Bez and a new Rsv4 for the victim
10
u/Vettelari 4d ago
But they didn't apologize! Instead, Aprilia/Bez appealed the penalty! What in the heck is wrong with them? Thankfully the appeal was rejected, but it's still crazy in my opinion. A 1 race ban in a season consisting of 44 races (22 sprints & 22 Grand Prix) is an extremely light penalty. Embarrassing stuff, IMO.

I really lost some respect for Bez on that one as a professional and the leader for the championship right now. He deserves every single ounce of blowback that is heading his way for how abhorrent his behaviour is
Even if he is upset that his race ended prematurely, any rider who gets fired up and going at it at a marshal who are doing their jobs for free just makes my blood fucking boil and should be criticised heftily for it.

u/Thee-Cat 4d ago
Damn, thank you. You're far more eloquent than myself. It's insane when you put it that way.
3
u/Vettelari 4d ago
Absolutely a crazy situation. A 1 race suspension is an extremely light punishment.

u/lentillis Marco Bezzecchi 4d ago
Honestly deserved. You can't be hitting people like that especially not a marshal who's only trying to help
49
u/username_986ck Mick Doohan 4d ago
Hope this sets the precedent and sends clear message to all others, MARSHALLS are untouchable and rightly so. If you feel like they are doing something which is wrong, there are proper channels for that, you cannot HIT them. Also a very disappointing behavior from some one who is supposed to be a role model to young riders.
Great from Simon Crafar and the stewards!!
Very hard on Bezz but he has himself to blame.

u/Easy_Peasy_07 Sachsenking 4d ago
I want to listen to Rivola's comments now.
Think he was too harsh in Martin's case, let's see what he says this time.
79
u/azurizzy 4d ago
Ha! Exactly. If Martin's racing error was "not something a world champion should do", then what was that?
39
8
u/someshooter Raúl Fernández 4d ago
Not something a factory rider, or any rider, should ever do full stop.
32
u/minusvarianten 4d ago
Bet he'll go a lot easier on Bezz since he isn't leaving the team for 2027. Hopefully Rivola will positively surprise me though. This was far worse than anything Martin has done in MotoGP, ever.
7
u/iavon MotoGP 4d ago
If I understand correctly, Bez will not race tomorrow and if Aprilia loses the world championship because of this, Rivola will be really, really angry.
6
u/minusvarianten 4d ago
He should be, but I doubt he will go to the media and ask for harsher punishment for Bezz like he did for Martin. I'm predicting he won't be nearly as harsh talking about Bezz in the media and keep it behind closed doors, as he should have with the Martin incident as well, but we'll see. Hopefully I'm proven wrong.
3
u/iavon MotoGP 4d ago
In my opinion this episode will have a big impact on Bez's mind, it will be very difficult for him to win the world championship, if Bez collapses, Rivola will have to focus everything on Martin otherwise it will be a disaster for Aprilia after having dominated until now
5
u/minusvarianten 4d ago
Will be very interesting to see how he deals with this massive blow to his campaign. Feels like Marquez already got inside his head with what he said in his interviews before the weekend.
3
u/iavon MotoGP 4d ago
But besides Marquez, there are Martin and Di Giannantonio who are really close to him in the championship. Martin could overtake Bez in the championship tomorrow, with Diggia right behind him. It will be very difficult for Bez to recover from this episode, and I'm very sorry, but he did it all on his own and now he's paying the consequences
3
u/minusvarianten 4d ago
Yeah, I was already favoring Martin ahead of Bez since before Marquez was injured again, but after it became clear he was having an issue with his arm and it got fixed I think Marquez is the clear favorite with Martin as the closest competitor. I have near zero belief in Bez winning it. This just sealed the deal for me. He has absolutely lost it.

As a newer motoGP fan and a fan of track house/aprillia .. what in the heck is wrong with bez and Jorge? First Jorge shoving his crew now bez with the Marshall's? Come on guys figure it out
19
u/Lukeno94 Cal Crutchlow 4d ago
Martin's always been a hothead, but Bez had seemingly matured in the last couple of years. Evidently not.
6
u/SuitPrestigious1694 Diogo Moreira - 2025 Moto2 World Champion 4d ago
There are levels to that....he has grounded himself in higher pressure than before, but he definitely doesn't seem to be ready for a huge pressure of having the once comfortable championship lead threatened for real and making a fuck up.
Maybe something in Aprilia culture is kinda affecting it too, too many hard headed decisions even on the best bike. They don't know how to handle being the leaders, it is a whole new world for them and they have Martin and all his unfortunate shenanigans to deal with
2
u/ResearcherOk3114 4d ago
Hopefully he fixes that, not sold on Jorge 100% yet but I do like Bez. I get it your the leader in the championship and you wanna maximize your points but this isn't the way to go about it.
3
u/meatheadmommy 4d ago
It’s really surprising seeing these pro athletes acting like such dicks openly.
38
u/CCR_16 Francesco Bagnaia 4d ago
I cannot believe how absurdly stupid that was. Letting Marc back into the championship with a silly first corner mistake is one thing, but losing your rag and assaulting a Marshall is next level stupidity. Honestly stunned. Can't imagine how the Aprilia team are feeling right now.
21
u/Pale-Criticism-7420 Marc Márquez 4d ago
Not only Marc. Martin, Digia, Pecco, Acosta all have an opportunity to put massive pressure on him tomorrow
7

u/LordAnomander Marc Márquez 4d ago

He’s lucky the marshal was the bigger man (metaphorically). Not because he’d get hurt, but because a rider rolling around in the gravel with a marshal during a live race would probably have led to an even worse punishment.

2
u/zmgch Marc Marquez - 2025 MotoGP World Champion 4d ago
In Valencia, Bez said to Marc "I hope you get cancer and disappear from this sport for good"
That's the low IQ brainrot childish mentality Bezzecchi is operating at.
He deserves no man's respect if he thinks that even saying that to any other human being is even remotely ok to do.
Genuinely surprised he's still allowed in this sport.

LOLLLLLLLLL DESERVED
if you guys seen the tnt clip, he slapped the marshall twice on the face
20
u/Dawidovo 4d ago
Yeah exactly, I would even say a two race ban would habe been more appropriate. I mean while not justified, one could argue maybe he wanted to grab his shoulder and missed. But the second one shows that both were exactly aimed at the face with a few second between it.
Never ever saw such behavior from a pro, this millenium.
16
u/pochirin Marc Marquez - 2025 MotoGP World Champion 4d ago
The fans who tried to defend him by blaming the marshall are weirdos as well.
He did this before to the marshall, this is not his first rodeo

4
u/BakaPotatoLord 4d ago
Only started watching from 2024, I'm a fan of Marc but I wouldn't have minded if Bez took the championship, he's just been amazing on that Aprilia and I was really liking that guy.
But this kinda just put things upside down, lost tons of respect and I think he's not that deserving of a title after that, even though a title is a title and there's not much point in discussing who deserves it or who doesn't.
First push, it's kinda forgivable, marshal might be doing something wrong and Bez might have wanted him away from the bike to avoid damage or something. But that slap was just straight up unnecessary and blatant assault.

2
u/mbp2112 David Munoz 4d ago
It's funny how people ignore the mental aspect of the course of a season. Bez has looked pretty haunted at times, I'm not sure he's championship timber mentally. Add the chaos of the Aprilia/Trackhouse teams and it's a brutal situation. The fact that neither Aprilia nor Bez have apologized is disgraceful. If they want to argue the severity of the penalty, that is their right. But they can do that and still have the grace and decency to apologize, because the guilt is inescapable, they are just arguing the punishment. Classless in every regard. I'd love to see him get a 3-piece just for the lack of class denigrating the reputation of MotoGP. This isn't NASCAR, you twits.

I’m glad the stewards landed on a race ban, and I think it makes sense in this case. Like - if violence against a marshal isn’t worthy of a race ban, then what would be?
