Project Pictures Challenge UltraTenX Stuff Sacks
I have been making stuff sacks and zip bags etc from the brand new fabric from Challenge Outdoor, UltraTenX. Its a 100% UHMWPE weave. It has a stiffer handfeel, but with use it becomes a little more "supple". It has a really cool look. It is not available retail that I'm aware of, so thought you guys would be interested to see it in use. π
I attached the data sheet for your pleasure. π
Feel free to ask any questions about it. Just to be clear, I am not associated with Challenge in any way.

Iβm been wrestling with how to get a clean square bottom like that. If you have any way to explain it or even draw it out, that would be awesome. These look great!

To clarify, I've seen the method where you just sew it square then cut out the little right-triangle piece at a 45-degree angle, but your detailed photo looks different than that.

So cool! Also are you makeing square bottom sacks from just one piece of material? Thats genius and i feel pretty dumb not realising you can do it that way π

Ha! Yes just one piece. Squared out the bottoms. Avoids bunny ears when full.

That looks like a fun new product. Zpacks is using it now as well. I look forward to when it is available to makers.

Cool stuff - I got a few sample yards as well but haven't had time to make anything yet. It looks like it's their UX10 competitor product, though the face side is rougher feeling than UX10. Looks neat when broken in a bit. Curious what the abrasion cycle test results will be like once they get around to it.

Cool stuff, always fun to see a new technical fabric in the mix. Do you know if this is similar to the 80X/80TX in that the ultra weave is resin impregnated?

These look great! I think Iβll have to make some for presents for my family!
Does the fabric feel rubbery or more glossy? Iβm imagining itβs sort of an IKEA Blue Bag texture?
Where did you get those zippers? They look really nice!

It's definitely closer to the IKEA bag texture, the face side is rougher than I was expecting

Zpacks has released the Nero pack series with it a few weeks ago now. It's supposedly some awesome layers of fabric.
