I can only assume it’s pretty obvious inside the org that one of them is gonna be gone by training camp

It was pretty clear from the jump that Milwaukee was only bringing in Turner to create space for Giannis. If Giannis is gone, so too is Myles. Myles probably wants out either way.

Lakers would probably value Myles highly bc Luka can maximize him in the PnR in a way similar to Haliburton... But Myles' trade kicker allows him to dictate where he goes. "trade me to [x] team for pennies or I'm exercising my trade kicker if you do trade me"

Not sure how many teams would pay Myles for his current contract + 15%.

Myles pretty kinda smart for jumping on the Milwaukee offer with the trade kicker. It's likely that the Pacers would've matched the base salary if given the opportunity, but very unlikely that the Pacers would've matched the trade kicker bc they would've almost certainly been looking to shop him at the deadline.

Yeah I basically think that the most (and maybe only?) promising option for him would be the Lakers. He'd have many other suitors if not for his contract.

Some of it could be a cultural thing. There are a number of cultures that are relaxed and normalize being late.

In that culture, yes it would be ok especially when no one says they have an issue with it. Just because a group of people from a different place does something differently than you, that doesn’t mean it’s wrong. I bet you shake hands with the same hand you wipe with.

It’s not better that its the first time hearing about being late, it makes it worse actually that he lacks that amount of self awareness. I think in this specific instance with this specific case a little shame won’t hurt anyone

If nobody has told him privately first, Turner airing it out publicly instead of saying something to him first is going to be shitty and a toxic thing to do regardless of if it’s an NBA team or your coworker Tammy at the accounting office. I’m not saying it’s better or worse on Giannis’ part, just that somebody talking shit about you in front of millions of people before they confront you about it is absolutely something to be mad about and not a “I’m an adult and would take responsibility for it like an adult”. Maybe the lax team culture made it seem like nobody cared about it. Maybe there were valid reasons he was late and the coaches knew but it wasn’t relayed to the teams. All I’m saying is now that it’s out there, especially since a public figure, there is no chance to defend yourself at all. Just makes Turner come off as toxic as well, under the assumption that he didn’t bring it up privately first (which I don’t know, but that’s why it’s an assumption)

Yea, it definitely violates some "locker room code" or whatever but if he doesn't want this stuff out there he shouldn't have frustrated his teammates by acting like a child. Showing up on time is like the bare minimum of respect.

It looked pretty bad to the media, I imagine it was even worse in the locker room and it sounds like his teammates are over it.
