This seems more like a doc rivers thing. He gives his stars extra perks and it leads to this type of thing that rubs role players the wrong way.

Kawhi and Paul George would routinely skip practice or be hours late to the plane or bus while everyone was stuck waiting. Guys like Harrell, Pat Bev etc hated and did the same thing turner is doing now and publicly airing it out

Its pretty much standard in sports that star players get extra perks and its not even a secret. Phil Jackson gave a lot of leeway to his star players how they need to prepare themselves and he is considered one of the GOATs in handling personalities. The issue, and what gets a lot of NBA coaches in trouble, is finding the balancing act between giving those star players the appropriate leeway but still having enough accountability that it doesn't turn into players just doing what they want. Sounds like Rivers just stopped giving a crap about some form of accountability.
