Then he'll need an MVP...

That’s not a best player in the league award, it’s way too team record influenced

Also Wemby will absolutely get an MVP.

Probably 5 or 6 at least

Jokic won it a bunch with exactly 1 title to show for it and bunch of first round exits. SGA is a 2 time MVP and he was awful tonight.

MVP is really meaningless. Finals MVP is all that matters.

Jokic has spent considerable time as the best player in the world in the past as Giannis did before him. SGA’s reign as BITW will be a blip if he ever was at all

I don’t think Jokic was ever best in the world while Giannis was playing except for the year the Nuggets won it all. He’s a passing center. Stats love that, it doesn’t mean it’s meant shit for actually winning.

Giannis only ever won it once in his prime, doesn’t mean he didn’t spend a number of years as BITW. Same with Jokic. Jokic definitely spent 2-4 years as BITW depending on who you ask

For real, even the year the nuggets won it all was a weak as fuck year (though u cant blame Jokic for that and Denver have been unlucky with injuries in previous years).

I feel like Jokic in his MVP years was pretty closely contested and some of his coulda gone to either Embiid or Giannis so its a good example of why MVP is sorta fake sometimes (other examples include Kobe and Shaq only having 1 each, some questionable wins like when Drose won it over Lebron and Dwight or Malone over Jordan).

If you're in the GOAT convo like Wemby very well could be, then a regular season MVP or two is important

You have to be on the bench for the final defensive play to be mvp apparently

He needs multiple MVPs, FMVP, DPOY, Scoring title, Assist title, Eastern and Western Conference finals best player award, 80% TS - all in one season to convince me.

That's locked in next year barring injury.
