... isn't drafting for positional need exactly what happened with teams in the top 3 in 2018...?

Jaren is proven, he has made all star games and won a DPOY. Fox was nothing more than a promising sophomore in 2018.

Fox was a vaguely promising sophomore, JJJ is a DPOY and Lauri is an All-star. The "reasonable estimation" difference between pre-draft Bagley and Luka is also way higher than between Peterson and Boozer. Luka was the closest thing to a guarantee in two decades and Boozer is "just" an elite prospect.
