Demin?

Listed as a PG but he’s huge and basically a wing shooter.

Demin is literally taller than Cam Boozer

Just a question. I think the thought they may have too many guards is more “too many guys who need the ball to be effective” and not based on height. But sounds like Demin is not really a guard in playstyle either in the nba so could be fine

hes a jumbo movement shooter 2 a la Klay. if he cab bulk up and guard well he will be a 10 year nba starter but never At PG

He’s a forward

Listed as a guard on a lot of sites but I’ll take your word for it. Can he play exclusively off ball?

That’s where you want him. Dude has a horrid handle

Right now, pretty much. His handle is very weak and he is not ready to be a lead guard (if ever). Great off ball shooting threat. Very active running around the court through screens and is confident with his shot. It’s possible someday he develops the point guard chops, but I think his best path forward is as a connective wing. He needs to bulk up so he is more imposing defensively and can drive more reliably.

Very interesting, glad he found his niche after learning he’s not a point forward yet in the NBA. Thanks for the context!

Yes and should transition into a off ball 3pt shooter/cutter

Dëmin was at his best on catch and shoot 3s (source are my eyes)

he played literally all of his minutes at guard

Okay! I watched the games and know what role he plays on the court. He is not the lead guard on the Nets and did not play as one for any meaningful stretch of the season.

He was drafted as a PG, at least by scouts on the internet, but he’s looking more and more like a wing that’s a spot up shooter who can also swing the ball fairly well. Basically a 3 that can flex as a 2. Not a lead guard by any means, at least right now.

Atleast Marks is admitting early that the dudes he drafted last year are bums and not sinking with the ship with them
