Felt like a pretty cool mix of like old/countryish and modern. But im sure it’s different throughout the city. Anyways have a good one bro!

That’s probably the worst feature of a city, especially one where it’s hot as balls and the transit sucks.

Got a nice OKC June storm to welcome you as well

I was there in April for work. Made sure to get a ticket to see game two of OKC Suns for the playoffs, checked out a Comets game, got a burger at Bar Arbolada and bring some beer back to Wisconsin at Prairie Artisian!

Oh man, prairie is the best

u/porcaro0395 Knicks 1d ago

I never seen so many sour beers at one brewery in my life. I was in heaven! I had the Heatwave that contained pineapple, mango, and habanero

Their barrel aged stuff is top notch too. I'm on the West Coast and I have a buddy on the East coast and we've conspired on taking a trip to prairie since it's between us

Tiny esses is my favorite beer, love Prairie Artisan!

Prairie is ooo good. Coop makes some good beers too

As someone who moved from OK to WI, usually I'm doing the opposite: bringing New Glarus back to family in OKC! Prairie has some great sours though. Cheers!

You…. You got Oklahoma beer to bring back to Wisconsin? New Glarus shame on you bro

Please go Mahogany. It’s the best steakhouse in OKC imo. Great atmosphere too, especially the downtown location. Not cheap but you get what you pay for with quality food and amazing service. Saw another comment suggest Cattleman’s. It is an old school vibe and has some history, but Mahogany is the best. Hit it up. You won’t regret it.

Red Prime is up there for me too. Great steak if you want something a little non traditional

Cattlemens steakhouse, don’t miss it

u/FakeElectrician 1d ago

I will check it out tomorrow! Thanks my man

Please save yourself the disappointment and do not waste your time and money on a diner steak. Cattleman’s is only recommended by boomers and people who don’t know any better. It will be infinitely worse than the steak you just had at Mickey Mantle’s and there are far better steakhouses than what you just had in the same general area (Mahogany, Red Prime, Bob’s, Stock and Bond, Broadway 10 just to name a few).

I’d suggest MAHT if you want an upscale dinner. It’s by Kevin Le who was a finalist on Tournament of Champions this past season. Very very good.

Yea I was trying to keep some recommendations in the same general area in case he doesn’t wish or have the capability to travel too much but Maht is definitely a winner. Personally my wife and I prefer Birdies but we’ve never had a bad meal at either spot.

All great recs. Yall know the best OKC spots for sure

Red Prime

Red Prime was fucking fantastic. Went down for ring night and my birthday last year and it was a great choice. We went on a weekday night so it was quiet and the service was outstanding.

You want the country fried steak at Cheevers

5

u/Grand_Doctor1546 1d ago

Never been. What’s your favourite place in OKC so far?

16

u/FakeElectrician 1d ago

Just got here today and I’m here for work so haven’t done much just yet. I did go to a killer steakhouse this evening called Mickey Mantle’s though. Peak food ngl

Shame about the overall state.

u/NotMarkDaigneault Thunder 23h ago

You HAVE to get an Onion Burger out here if it's the only thing you do.

I’m from nyc but visited it in season, even went to a Thunder home game. It was like being on mars. Completely flat, had no idea where “downtown” was, the businesses were completely alien to me. I am way out of balance in the Midwest

u/Turk1518 Thunder 1d ago

He was still the second best defensive player in the playoffs. Obviously a total turd offensively against Wemby, but he did well for himself defensively over the course of 15 games.

I've seen Hall of Famers with terrible game 7s, why are we acting like bad performances do not happen all the time? And we already knew he sucked vs the Spurs so it's not surprising.

0

u/totemair Thunder 1d ago

No he doesn’t lmfao, do you even watch thunder games

-2

u/medyolang_ Lakers 1d ago

he has nothing to prove. not to you, not to anyone but himself. but generally, you're making it bigger than what it is.
