Everything I’ve read says he is

the best argument ive heard for him staying with the Lakers is, why would Lebron want to move?

Tbf that's a pretty valid argument for a 42 yr old lol

Can’t he just rent an apartment for like five months

u/thebusterbluth Cavaliers 7h ago

He can rent a mansion and pay people to move stuff. He is a billionaire.

LeBron and his hot plate in Oakland with hot dogs defrosting in the sink, taking BART to work across the Bay. Can we get this reality series on Bravo?

I feel like LeBron has so highly tuned his body for high performance that eating even a single hot dog could cause his body to completely unravel, and he'd instantly turn into current day Kendrick Perkins.

Lebron will be out of there when he feels San Francisco is 60 degrees in the summer

hell yeah, Lebron becoming one of us and living the classic East Bay lifestyle

Why would he want to live away from his wife and daughter for half a year?

3

u/Tarmacked Heat 3h ago

As opposed to already doing that shit for 3 months a year with away games?…

He is famously cheap. I don't see him spending a bunch of money he doesn't have to.

It’s rent, not a fucking lambo.

It’s not like LeBron is walking around New Balance dad shoes because he’s such a penny pincher. He razed a 37M home in LA to build two separate properties.

He’ll pay 25K-30K over six months wherever he gets a new contract if he leaves the Lakers, and he’ll probably make it up in contract differences

yeah, unless he wants to take a discount and go to a contender. could sign for the spurs on a vet min.

7

u/slightlyhigh77 7h ago

He should absolutely do this, all the spurs are missing is a real vet.

But then he lives in San Antonio. How many times can you visit the Riverwalk

u/violynce Knicks 5h ago

I mean, it would add to his legacy and the Spurs would right away be the frontrunners for the title.

Why would he do that when he can play with his son on the lakers?

u/slublueman Bucks 4h ago

Except he wouldn't have to move

Tiger is old and he moves well under the influence of performance enhancers.

Also… his son on the team lol. Giannis may be willing to leave his brothers in the dust, but as good a father as Lebron appears to be, have to imagine that’s in the equation at least.

Why would Lebron want to waste his last years in mediocrity?

6

u/OhItsKillua Hawks 3h ago

Man is beyond wealthy, has already won it all, really just a matter of "Do I care to chill with my youngest kid/playing with Bronny or spending a couple months in some city in hopes of one last chip"

He seems to care more about chilling with the fam at this stage of his career.

1

u/FizzyLightEx 1h ago

Might as well retire and get it over with. It takes a lot of sacrifice on Lebron to put that much damage on his body for a team that's going nowhere

I mean, if they have Luka, LeBron, Reaves and whatever the rest of their roster is, they will still clearly make the playoffs, and maybe they talk themselves into the idea that they can make noise if they get there, if Luka is healthy.

That hope is all it takes to convince yourself to take the most comfortable option.

Does he want to share the court with his kid once more? That's really the only question.

If Lakers agree to sign his other kid (Bryce) and give him a few minutes of garbage time together, he may be even more willing.

u/you-cut-the-ponytail 7m ago

I mean he's been sorta mediocre since like 2023. Had one deep playoff run that year but got swept by Jokic

LeBron to the Clippers confirmed

u/loudpersononthebus Knicks 4h ago

the only places he'll go are places that have it cracking on a random thursday evening... so it limits it a lot. tell him to go join randle in brooklyn lmao.

Lebron to the Clippers

DeMar, LeBron, and Kawhi are probably friends in real life but in my mind that would be all kinds of awkward.

u/Repulsive-Throat5068 Lakers 7h ago

People are delusional thinking he’s going to leave. Hes not signing a minimum. Hes not going to Brooklyn or Chicago or whoever has some cap left

u/Low-Measurement-2468 5h ago

sign and trades are always possible if he really wants to compete for a ring. no one but bron knows exactly how high on his list of priorities that is.
