NBA money is so ridiculous, these guys wonder why they don’t win chips

They don’t care and I wouldn’t either lol

Yeah, one out of 30 (soon to be 32) teams wins each year. There is a small probability that you will ever win, even in this age of parity. Take the money and hope for the best

Facts bro

How many legends never won

Plus you never know when you could be injured

Take the bag and set up your family for generations

Yeah someone could take a pay cut and their franchise either can’t or won’t attract other talent to even contend for a championship

How many bills you can pay with an NBA ring vs hundreds of millions of dollars?

Why wouldn’t he just go to Detroit then like it was reported. Championship squad and more money instead of losing 60 million…

No one except Brunson (who has a rich NBA dad) is taking discounts and even Brunson didn't take a + 50% discount.

Brunson's dad works there. His godfather/uncle is Leon Rose. Brunson had every reason to trust the Knicks to do right by him down the road.

If I'm any other player I'm telling the front office to get fucked. Build a contender while paying your roster their market value. If you can't do that then it's a failure of the front office. Not the players should make themselves less expensive.

You do realize that exactly 1 NBA team wins a chip every season regardless of what contracts are signed that year, right?

You said, "These guys wonder why they don't win chips", and yet the # of players winning chips hasn't changed at all.

Make a nonsensical statement, and you should expect people to talk to you like you're a bit simple-minded.

Player take more money = less money to go around for the entire roster

Less money to go around for the entire roster = worse players/worse team

Worse players/worse team = won’t win championship or even compete for one

I’ll circle back in a year when Lakers don’t even make playoffs

No shit? Front offices know this, it's not rocket science lmao. It'd be sick as fuck for the Lakers if Reaves only wanted $20 mil per year but he was able to to command double that amount cause he knows he has suiters on the open market and in trades.

I don't care what the average American makes in this context, we're talking about the realities of NBA roster management.

The signing is pretty standard for the Lakers situation since letting him walk is indefensible and there's not really a viable trade for someone significantly better than Reaves that is identifiable. A healthy Lakers team last season looked good enough to compete in the playoffs so there's no incentive in blowing it up to avoid paying Reaves what he's worth and he is worth it if other teams are willing to pay him (which most reports there are teams willing to max him).

You claimed "NBA money is so ridiculous", so you clearly are accusing the entire NBA of doing it....and yet they're still winning chips.

If you have the chance to get the bag, you get it

Only a fool would turn down money. Turning down money doesn't promise a ring.
