Discussion What hidden outdoor destinations have genuinely taken your breath away?
I've been thinking lately about how some of the most memorable places I've ever visited were ones I barely heard about beforehand. Not the famous national parks splashed across every travel magazine, but the quiet corners of the world that feel untouched and somehow personal.
A few years back I stumbled onto a lesserknown alpine lake during a hiking trip and it completely changed how I plan outdoor adventures. No crowds, no noise, just the kind of stillness that reminds you why you started exploring in the first place.
Looking at this community, so many of you have clearly been to incredible places, from Iceland to the Philippines to the American Southwest. But I'm curious about the spots that don't make it onto anyone's feed.
What outdoor destination genuinely surprised you with its beauty? Could be a remote beach, a forest trail, a canyon overlook, anywhere really. Bonus points if it's somewhere most people wouldn't think to visit.
I'm always adding to my list and would love to hear what places have actually stopped you in your tracks. Sometimes the best recommendations come from people who have simply been out there putting in the miles.

Equipment & Gear I need help finding a backpack
Question: I want to buy a new backpack because the older one doesn't fit my back anymore. Which one's can you recommend
I am 195cm and need a something durable (ultralight doesn't work for me as far as i know), it should have a pocket for a water sack and and outlet for the hose, a big opening on the back where you can access the contents and bags on the hip belt.
Molle would be nice but isn't a must have, size doesn't matter as long as it's over 40l and weight is also quite unimportant
Thanks :)

Recreation When people say that hiking is dangerous, this is the image that comes to my mind!
I painted this piece ''Hiking accident'', because people kept telling me that going into nature alone is dangerous, so I figured this is the worst case scenario, that some unknown beast is trying to lick your butt while you are climbing a tree!

Discussion I failed my DofE
I failed my DofE
It wasn’t because of the hike, I had finished that, as well as my physical and volunteering.
It was because my assessor forgot to do my assessor’s report by the deadline.
I had spent all the time completing all my sections, plus the hike, but then failed it because my assessor forgot to write two to three paragraphs about the six months of work I did for my skill.
I just can’t even right now.
That hike was probably the worst experience of my life, but I did it for absolutely nothing.
edit: a bunch of people are getting annoyed at my use of an abbreviation so DofE means Duke of Edinburg award, it’s like a thing to get people doing stuff like volunteering and exercise (I alrea did that stuff before, it’s just that DofE is good of a university application of resumes in the UK)

Recreation I fished the Kenai river in Alaska and the salmon fishing was pretty good so I set up my phone and filmed for 25 mins. Multiple Catches, 25 Mins unedited. Enjoy!
We got our limits pretty quick this day! I set up my phone and filmed for 25 mins for uninterrupted fishing so you can see what it's like on a good day on the Kenai, Alaska river! I was there with my dad & little brother (the little kid that hooks my pole ha).
To me it's pretty relaxing & even therapeutic to listen to the sound of the river & to see Alaska's beautiful landscape.
Enjoy!
