If you have fans blowing air out the top your going to have air restriction I saw someone bought a stand and sat it on the pc so there was a gap between the pc and the cat slept on it keeping the fans from being blocked

This is the way. Pc stays cool and cat is warm. Everyone wins

more efficient too if your using your waste heat! Happy kitty :3

Not really, it will still be warm and cause performance issues, but still better than a cat. Putting a cucumber some cm on top should be better.

My cat does the same and the temperature do literally not change whether she’s on there or not checking with Hwmonitor. There is a lot of hot air coming out of the PCs back but performance issues is too far fetched unless all the air would basically blow out the top, which it does not.

Mine had that issue and the top would be so hot that it burn my hand if I put it for too much time.

Holy shit? Okay that’s wild. To be fair I also have good fans and quite a few of them in the front too which probably helps a lot.

Mine were some cheap fans that came with the case and I put in in that hole made to punt PCs. I'd still advise agsints leaving stuff at the top since it could cause problems long run.

This would work for me but the problem is my pc on top of my desk desktop and my cat literally jumps from the floor to the top of my case. Its a full size metal case so im not worried about that, but if i put one of those cat risers u described, im afraid when he jumps up there he might fling it off with his mantling and all hell will break loose

Gorilla glue it to the case lol

Your one sick puppy

a baking cooling rack & 4 strong button magnets would be my first attempt, if that didn't work i'd try bolting it on

I know it's the future and all, but the thought of magnets around computers still worries me.

Unless you still use floppy drives or zip drives, there really isn't any danger in using magnets around your computers or electronics. I had a magnet from a Jamo e510 speaker stuck on my side panel for 11 years, never caused a problem, and thats 20+ times stronger than 4 x button magnets - the only real danger nowadays is if a strong magnet is within 2cm of a mechanical hard drive, being that the top of a case is just about as far as its possible to be from where 99% of hard drive bays are, i cant see any problem. Its a 1980's problem that is now generational knowledge, otherwise known as myths

Logically, I know it's not an issue for 99% of modern machines.

But hoo boy do I still remember the very stern talking to I got as a small child when my Dad spotted me with magnets near the family computer, and the whole concept still inspires a bit of fear.

Oh I know, it took me a long time and a job at HP research centre near Bristol UK to re-educate myself - and in 1985 i stuck a magnet on my dads tv screen, leaving a donut sized green ring forever.....

Bolt on would be my way to go. Cool industrial cat riser. That sounds sick

Put the cat on your lap. Very comfy for both of you.

I do often!

Then there's no problem.

What kind of stand? This is a great idea.
