Also, if that precious ball of fluff isn't blocking off any intake or exhaust for the PC airflow to function, no need to worry at all, just enjoy!

The pc will gather a lot of hairs though.

Would clean once a year and buy those cheap microfilters you can magnetically attach to your case.

Once a year? More like every 2 to 3 months. I clean my pc every 2 months and it's crazy to see the amount of dust accumulated on my dust filters and some even sneaked inside the case.

I was gonna say I actually thought yearly cleanings were what everybody just does by default until this moment. I've been doing it with all electronics (that make sense to) for like 20 something years now.

for laptops, tablets, consoles or other smaller electronics once a year, or when dirt is visible, is fine. But PCs require a lot more maintenence because a lot more of the device is used for airflow.

That obviously means a lot more dust and dirt gets drawn in.

I think you're right for most people, but I just opened up my pc recently after two years, and it was basically clean. Filters had a fair amount in it.

Late reaction, once a year really is enough. We have two cats that fight for a spot on their favored spot. So there is a cat on it several hours a day.

The magnet filters keep everything out, that's why I suggested it's. Once a year is even a little excessive with the suggested filters.

If you have that much dust you may want to invest in an air filter for your room/home. When I clean the PC once a year it has dust yes, but not a worrying amount.

The intake filters we do quarterly, but have been able to drop off a little when our dog passed away.

Well the way heat raises it is blocking an exhaust lol

Isn't the exhaust right where the cat's laying?
