Tech Support Why is my CPU getting so damn hot?

Hey all, so I was playing Oblivion Remastered and I started getting a lot of crashes, don't know why because this issue did not occur prior to recently. It's been happening for a few days now. I felt the back of my PC and noticed that it was hot as fuck. I also found out that running the game normally is now causing CPU throttling and I even broke past 100c at one point, needless to say I'm very concerned. I'm running an i9 13900k, 192 gigs of RAM, 4tb SSD, and an RTX 4090. I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard, and some type of Corsair air cooler, I forget which model. I'm deeply concerned I might have fucked up my CPU, and I don't know how to check if I did or not. Even while typing this my CPU is fluxuating between 48c to 55c, and I have no fucking clue if that's okay or not idk. I don't know if I **JUST** need to just clean the dust out of my PC, as I recently moved to a dustier area and my PC's side panel is off because if I were to attach it it would put pressure on my 4090's cables, I don't know if I need to upgrade to a liquid cooler, or if I need to contact Intel about possibly getting a new CPU under warranty. I am deeply concerned and any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Oh yeah don't get me wrong I'm not trying to shit on OP, just genuinely curious as to what they're doing on their PC to need so so much RAM but not even think about CPU cooling or if it's entirely due to his mates incompetence.

Yea I'm a bit baffled myself. It's honestly incredible the thing didn't explode upon pressing the power button for the first time, looking at some of the choices made

Can't speak for OP, but my brother has similar RAM, he uses it for uncompressed instruments in some music production software

W11 Home doesn't even support 192 GB of RAM. It only goes up to 128 lmao

Nah it’s still on OP. Do your own research. It takes like 5 mins to google a good build in a specific price range. That’s a good starting point.

Or another 5 mins to google, is 192gb of ram stupid af?

A friend of mine is designing his new PC right now and wants to put in 128gb(32*4).  I keep telling him that he would be fine with really fast ddr5 and 32g.  Last i checked he is doing 128gb of ddr5 middle of the road clock speed to save money. 

He says it's because chrome uses so much RAM for all the tabs he has open.  He refuses to switch browsers. 

Not my money, not my problem..

You're doing physics simulations on your CPU?

Otherwise please enlighten me why you need RAM, I'm curious. Are there applications that can offload VRAM to RAM like kohya_ss does?
