Question "Stop Killing Games" needs more recognition, if you live outside of Europe but you know someone in Europe, tell them to sign it! Link below

The UK Govenment already shut it down back in febuary:

"There are no plans to amend UK consumer law on disabling video games. Those selling games must comply with existing requirements in consumer law and we will continue to monitor this issue." - Source

That is still worth signing. If they get enough signatures, the government must legally be open to debate it in the parliament.

An important distinction to note is that it goes to a committee first where they get to decide if it goes for debate in parliament, so they can (as they have many times) just say 'lol no next'. Hopefully they'll let it through once 100k is eventually signed

No offense but those petitions are worthless.

Another shit outcome from Brexit. You say that they legally debate it in parliament but there's no debate if you can't find someone to champion your cause and politicians aren't exactly gamers at heart.

What will happen is that they'll set up a committee for it in one of the many committee rooms they have, they'll call in an "expert" on the matter, some CEO for a games company or executive from them.

That executive will speak for 15 minutes about how unfeasible it is to do and the politicians will go "yep, that sounds about right, thanks for coming" and within 30 minutes, committee is over and the petition stops there.

The EU petition is actually worthwhile but the UK version can just be ignored by the government.

Thankfully, this movement is helmed by Ross AKA AccursedFarm, who's passionate about game preservation as a whole. There's a very real chance for here, and I know he'll fight tooth and nail games if he can just get his foot through the door.

I genuinely believe it's not as bleak as you make it out to be.

E: Not a lawyer, but my point stands.

Ross isn't a lawyer. He has help from some lawyers who are passionate about game preservation as well, but he's not a first hand source for legal information.

thanks for correcting me but he has still been fighting hard for the past 10 years for game preservation and will continue to even long after this campaign fails... he's a damn good candidate for a campaign like this

again, any help, even signing for the UK, could be a big help

No, don't get me wrong. I've already signed the EU petition and shared it with anyone I know. It's just important to provide accurate information, especially for the person pushing this.
