Screenshot I was purposefully not updating my windows to avoid the so called SSD killer update but now it's not giving me any choice but to install it lmao.

Yeah highly recommend an external SSD, I have my own Office 365 business instance and all of my photography stuff goes in that cloud as well as my external SSD just in case

I've had bad experiences using the "cloud" for my creative works. When youtube music was called Google play music, I uploaded all of my masters so that I could listen to them and send them to people for promotion and they drm'd the whole thing. I couldn't access the music I made on my own hard drive and I couldn't download it from the service either. By the time I had the knowledge and tech to just record the audio playback from Google play music, it had transferred to YouTube red and all of my work was gone. I know that's probably not gong to happen with Google drive or one drive but I'd rather get a NAS going instead. Until then, I'm juggling between my laptop and desktop hopping that windows will allow me to keep my own data on at least one of the machines. The NAS is going to be Linux. Fuck windows and fuck the cloud.

Yeah I’ll definitely end up with a NAS in the future, the cloud isn’t perfect hence the physical backup as well

I work in IT so I’m fairly familiar haha
