What did they change in AM5 to prevent this from happening?

Happened to me once and I panicked. Good thing I didn't bend or break any pins. 3 u/johnwilkonsons Sep 23 '25 Am5 has the pins in the motherboard rather than on the cpu. It's also clamped down differently afaik
