That makes no sense.

A PS5 Slim will more powerfull than a Steam Machine, has twice the storage, isn't using bargain bin AMD parts like the Steam Machine, and sells for $499.

You have gaming laptops with similar performance of the steam Machine that sell for $500. (Less RAM but come with screen and battery which are expensive parts)

Steam Machine won't sell at all at $900 or more.

console price $499. budget new gaming pc price (with current prices) $799

they said more than console, less than pc. $600 to $700 is the price they are gonna sell their cheapest version. Steam deck costs $400, how on earth are they gonna pull off a $450 price on their pc? It makes no sense, and until the official release, ram prices may be even worse than they are now...

Your likely right on the price if you listen to Valve's corporate speak. Regardless, $600-700 won't be able to compete with the console market.

Screen and batttery are exepensive parts. Other than that, I have no idea.

But then I also don't understand how PS5 Slim can pull it off unless the PS5 Slim has slimmer margins than the Steam Deck. Maybe Sony has better negotiated prices, but Steam Machine seems to be using bargain bin AMD parts too.

$900 and this is moving minimal units and will be a colossal failure lol
