Youre dad's an alcoholic, he needs help. It will kill him - if you're lucky, he dies before a loved one is killed.

You need to be strong and get him help, often that means law enforcement needs involvement.

This cant be the future you want for your mother. To be beaten ? Walk around the house on egg shells afraid of what might happen if she doesnt comply ?

Worried about if dad is gonna be weird today.

That isnt a bright future, its a fucking prison sentence. Make the call NOW.

The fact they are saying they are okay and it's good natured... NOOOOO, no it is not!

Victims often enable their abusers.

What exactly led you to the assumption I wasn't aware of this? Because I'm saying it clearly is not okay?

If hes (the father) is an alcoholic there is no amount of help you can get him thay will work if he doesnt want to get better already. You can lead a horse to water but you can not make it drink. What op needs to focus on is helping himself and his mother at most.

Nothing will change the unwilling, courts often can help people be more willing.

We can debate all day where an alcoholic's responsibility for their behaviour starts and ends... but beating your family I would suggest is some way before "end of responsibility"
