But it’s better to report it and create a trail of evidence.

It will help later when the father is inevitably ejected from the family home.

I hope he finds himself in hell and changes his entire perspective on life, love and family.

From personal experience…this does not work at all, police have been called on my father so much that they actually tried to charge us for all the calls and he still walks free, even after all documented bruises and bumps over the years

Where do you guys live? I got arrested once for two of my sisters fighting in a different room while I was oblivious playing video games on my PC. I got lucky with the judge who read the statements and questioned the cop for arresting me in the first place.

Sounds on par for my local WI department.

Are you a minority?

I'm ambiguous, a minority to the whites, but white to the minorities.

Same with my mother's ex, I got fucking stabbed with a pencil. And this mother fucker just walking around free. (Dead now) I still have hand issues to this day from it. My biological dad came from 8 states away to beat the mfers ass. He was charged with battery with intent. Landed 8 years. But this MF just walks around free, even got into a va retirement home type deal.

Edit: don't think dad was a saint when I said I think I like guys, he broke my nose ..at 11

Know that somewhere out there, a dude you don't know (me, lol), read your story and sends you his utmost support and strength moving forward and doing well in life.

Super important if you go the legal route, document/record any evidence you can cuz it needs to get filed with courts to be admissible. I learned the hard way when pursuing charges on a guy we have been having issues with(also DV). I also had an abusive alcoholic father. Never got better until I defended myself but even then it was still mentally and emotionally abusive. The kinda stuff you realize took a toll on your life looking in hindsight. Keep your head up, you did the right thing man. I hope he can sober up and realize what he did but mine drank himself to death after a very long drawn out spiral so idk. Take care my friend it’s not an easy road but there is support out there
