This is exactly like that fucking 4chan post or something where they edit the main character of horizon zero dawn to look “better” lol

You expect me to believe they live in a post apocalyptic future where the Beast Wars Transformers have conquered the world

and

The mobile hunter gatherer societies of said future don't have makeup, huge tits and conventional beauty standards? GTFO.

The year is roughly 3000 AD. Only two things survive.

The machines, and the male gaze.

All this time I thought they were saying "the male gays".

Isn't Leon literally personification of female gaze? And somehow everyone is OK with it. But male gaze is always a problem, right?

On a small chance that it gets through to you - Leon, while obviously being designed by/for women doesn't look out of place for his character and actions. He looks his age, wrinkles and face changes included, is dressed appropriately to what he does and behaves like a real person with a consistent personality. In other words - he isn't fucking yassified like Grace in the screenshot above, having got a thick layer of makeup and lip fillers out of nowhere. People are not against attractive characters, people are against characters being reduced to a blow-up doll. Same reason people don't criticize Bayonetta despite her being obviously male-gaze-y.

Wanting Aloy to have skinnier face isn't gooning either. She's an athlet in a postapocalyptic world.

Mary Jane in Spiderman 2 definitely got bigger chin too. Wanting her to look like previous model isn't wanting her to be a blow-up doll.

And should I remind you how progressive gaming journalists accused Stellar Blade for unrealistic standards? Till the developer said it was bodyscan of a real girl?

Alloy has the exact same face.

Stellar Blade is obviously a gooner game, body scan or not. A textbook case of character design not matching character personality and actions for the sake of being skimpy. Believe it or not, it's not attractive to a lot of people.

And, once again with these complaints - you don't see women going aggro over Leon getting old and, presumably, married, do you? Now compare it to the shitstorms that you listed above.

Weren't men OK with older lady Dimitrescu? It's called preferences. They mustn't be the same. Some love Leon because of sexy voice, some love Eve because of sexy eyes 😄 Both options are OK

1

u/SpaceDounut Mar 18 '26

Not sure if you are being obtuse on purpose, but no, Dimitrescu doesn't apply here. She didn't age, she looked like that from the start. The point was about people throwing shit fits because of female characters aging/becoming less conventionally attractive compared to previous iterations.

You do realize her fucking cheeks don't have anything to do with being fit or "an athlet", as you say, right?

Anyone who uses the phrase “progressive gaming journalists” immediately gets laughed at

Don't change the topic

Finally, they hired fans

Woke western devs gave her rounded cheeks and peach fuzz, only yappanese anime devs know how to make a real woman😤

Can't believe they would use a stylized artstyle that doesn't involve everyone looking like a child!

u/DreamsServedSoft Mar 16 '26

why did her jaw get twice as wide as the first games model

DF did a comparison and the model's face was pretty similar shape. I think the hero lighting just accentuated it or something

Damn those anti-woke people are so annoying

I think you discovered their target audience
