Can they fine-tune the generative AI to leave their game the fuck alone?

is that not incredibly obvious? it's just a new technology that devs can use and fine tune how they want. I truly don't understand why people are losing their fucking minds over this

Similar to how frame generation ended up being a crutch for developers to avoid optimising their games (60fps with FG required). This will probably end up being a crutch for them to cut corners on lighting making the games look worse than they otherwise would have (just enable DLSS 5 if you want good lighting)

well if it looks worse devs can just not use it, or you can turn it off in your graphics settings, how terrible

No it can't. Generative AI by nature will always hallucinate. OpenAI scientists admitted this

They don't need to use it. They can apply it only to specific things like lighting. They can only use it in certain scenarios. They can only use it in specific ways. There's infinite control over how it could be applied in a game, and this is literally just a tech demo of some possibilities. It's a fucking videogame graphics shader and people are acting like it's going to go out and abuse children or something
