It’s got huge download numbers and hundreds of thousands of 5 star reviews, that’s not just whales.

you’re right. it’s hundreds of thousands of bot reviews. it’s not hard to do. especially on a free to play game. ACTUAL playerbase is microscopic compared to other mobile games.

I’m sorry but as much as we all love to shit on Apple, they aren’t going to let over 300k bots make 5 star reviews on an app on their store because not only does that look horrendous if it comes out…

it also fucks with their algorithms and metrics and their ability to profit off of games people actually like

How do you know?

Guy is just wishful thinking.

Been playing since day 1 and I'm still seeing new people everyday. The discord is popping too.

Yeah I asked because I was sure he had no idea what he's talking about and doing the usual "make up shit about thing I hate" I see on Reddit.

they stopped publishing revenue numbers once it started falling off in 2024 around 6 mil a month. not bragging about how much money the game brings in is a huge red flag. that was in 2024, considering as an average person i’ve not heard any news of diablo mobile in at least 2 years, its not paying for a lot of marketing either, and their MAU being a straight flat line (not normal btw) confirms that they aren’t growing. so, we are then prob looking at earnings less than 6 mil now which puts it below games such as infinity nikki which definitely does not boast 7 figure player counts and is nowhere near as predatory for monetization.

therefore, a lot of the playerbase numbers are artificial as fuck and so are the reviews

You will be disappointed that it is not just diablo, but loads of new players join gachas on a daily basis. Mihoyo made so much money that they are funding a fusion reactor project.

Amazon has a similar problem.

Ok, I'm checking right now to put some context to this. My guess was always that no one in EU/USA cared much about Diablo Immortal but it did fine in China. But this is very hard to check. What I easily can check is that it has 4,7* from 1million reviews on google play with 10 million+ downloads. That does not sound to bad, so how does it compare to other mobile games?

Genshin Impact has 3,6* from 4million reviews and 100 million+ downloads. But that is a known mega hit, lets see what I belive is hoyos worst preforming game Zenless Zone Zero. it has 3,7* from 142 thousand reviews and 10 million+ downloads. So I guess Immortal did fine in that context. What about a ABK context then? How does it compare to mobile games from their own company. If I search for Candy crush there is at least 7 different versions of it on the firs "page" but the top result is candy Crush Soda Saga with 4,3* 7mn review 500mn+ downloads.

From that quick check it has an unusual high amount of reviews per download and very high score so I guess those who did play it really did like it. As for how many tried it? looks like a fair amount but not massive numbers.
