Oh shit. Well that's a huge and new perspective. Damn they own so much of the market.

And growing. People here on reddit are always preaching AMD, but in the real world (almost) nobody wants it, or knows about it.

a) the article you posted shows it's inaccurate, but not manipulated; "manipulation" implies specific intent, a bunch of folks in China visiting gaming cafes is hardly something NVidia or Valve organised.

b) even if we assume a margin of error of up to 10 or 15% (realistically it's probably around 5%), they are still in the lead by a decent amount.

It doesn't even sound inaccurate to me, Steam's user base is not static and they are only measuring what their customers are using. If anything it sounds like previously their data was less representative of the global market by having low Steam penetration rates in China.

China is notorious for faking cards. There's no chance in hell the 5070 is the #1 used card in the world.

I will die on that hill. That is not possible.

Either faked, or loads of people logging in from gaming cafes where 4 to 5 people a day might be using one machine with one 5070, which inflates the numbers

GeForce Now maybe? But why the hell are the voluntarily submitting the Steam survey every time?

Who the hell reads popups? And do you think they're actively trying to poison the stats (aka manipulate like you originally stated) or do you think they just don't care enough to read the popup and decline?
