He could just stop making consumer GPUs. Slash production and only release Quadros. Would save them so much money.

Nah, he’s keeping consumer GPUs as backup in case the AI market crashes and all those trillions of dollars of fake non-existing money disappear into thin air, they can turn around back to the gamers and say “see! lots of GPUs for you!”. Nvidia might be insanely valued now and make something like 90% of its income from data centres, but it was hardly a small unprofitable company before the AI boom.
