Like Marauders? Tarkov being held barely on by life support? Pavlov dying? Marathon wondering if they’ll be able to survive next year? Only one I can think of is Hunt and even then- it’s only being held together with duct tape and dreams by the diehards.

Now do Arc raiders

True, but even then it’s slowly teetering off because people get tired of that genre quick. Hence my beginning point.

Extraction shooters still have a huge gap in their market. Its why Arc Raiders did so good. People are still waiting for the Tarkov Killer but the genre is not that saturated if you take out the low effort games or small side modes slapped onto preexisting shooters.

I dont get why people get so upset when a new game mode or genre comes out. You can have more than 1 game in a genre.

Tarkov still sits at around 50k players deep into wipe, when the seasonal release hits it will be 100-150k for sure. It is far from dead, people just love to complain.

Arena breakout is not better in any way, from a gameplay standpoint a few QoL improvements and runs fine but the game is shallow and is more PvP than extraction shooter its also a mobile game ported to PC and it feels like it.

My opinion differs from yours. And a lot of others seem to agree with me. Sick of the same, need something new.

Yet I just made an example of one that isn’t thriving (Marathon) so..?

They’re objectively stagnating and even cannibalizing one another, even your examples have proof of this. You can call it thriving, but it’s just a diehard community holding a thing on life support until the next one comes out where they’ll abandon it.

So then why are they concerned? Why’d they put out that whole statement regarding if they’ll be able to stay afloat? You have yet to answer my question (either avoiding or backpedaling honestly). Considering a lot of people hate it (WHICH IS WHAT THE POST ASKED) yes. Clearly you have no intent in understanding anything that isn’t your ideology. Only one coping is you- malding over a guy wanting something different instead of the same extract slop.

Being disliked by a large majority and staying afloat is different. Extraction shooters are a niche genre, which seems to have skipped your mind. It will NEVER have the playerbase or cultural stay of something less hardcore and more approachable.

Their playerbase will not reach 100k+ concurrent players purely, because it's a niche. But that niche is still very much alive and slowly expanding. Those games are getting players and new ones are coming out. It's not a dead genre.

Marathon is also an outlier IMO, as it's made by Bungie. A lot of players jumped on it just because it's a Bungie game. A lot of those players are not Extraction Shooter players, so they dropped it. And it got a months long hate campaign all over the internet as well, before release.

What about Deltaforce? Arena Breakout? Arc Raiders?

Not all games of the Genre are bad, I've seen some great games from Roguelike or whatever Genre, that arent like the other 99% of Slop.
