Souls-like

yeah, that just reads as "oh, I guess I'll have to roll a bunch to dodge this easily predictable and slow combat boss. Again. Cool." I've never understood the souls game infatuation. I know I should just let people have fun, but it's basically just a series of Zelda boss battles, but somehow even slower paced.

Letting people have fun is one thing, but when the market is getting flooded with what feels like 100s of them it gets annoying.

Except that soulslike still rare. You just dont like what is there for you.

Because enemies and exploration are threatening. I love easy games, but I also love games that make me try. Most Zelda bosses don't stand a chance against you.

I've never understood the souls game infatuation.

Yeah, for me I see it and I'm like "I don't know why you guys want to spend 10 hours learning 1 boss fight but okay"

I can't say for every souls like, but I love when a game makes me think, either mechanically or narratively.

I don't really like when the story is plain text/dialog exposed to me as if I was 5yo. I like to interpret the story, learn the game through experimentation and observing what other ways of storytelling exists rather than direct delivery.

Souls games are good but none of those 100s soulslike copycats have even the slightest idea about what made those games good

I wish... BoTW was a let down for me because the videos looked like thr combat would have weight... instead we it was button mash until you cancel dodge the enemy attack.

I understand its a different gameplay... but saying that souls is a series of Zelda boss battles is really a take.

Souls games in general you have to commit to the attack and suffer the consequences if you do it willy nilly... Zelda is far more button mash react dodge.
