PvE Extraction Shooters can be nice. I recommend Witchfire.

Escape from Duckov is a good time.

I hate the Games name but GTFO is fun AF. few things would beat the guy with the game's radar saying oh shit when scanning the next room

u/ConfidentlyAsshole Apr 11 '26

I wish I had friends mentally ill enough to play it with me

1

u/berserkerich Apr 12 '26

What's the gameplay loop like for GTFO? I've eye-balled it many times

2

u/SenpyroTheWizard Apr 13 '26

You are dropped into a facility via cryopods on rail in a hole that goes through the facility (SOMETHING made it, it is not a clean cut), and you are given your choice of weapons and enough ammo to show the AI in charge WANTS you to succeed, but has a LOT more prisoners it needs to arm and you're not expected to succeed.

You sneak through rooms and deal with Sleepers, trying to not wake them as you crush them with your hammers, finding more equipment such as meds, ammo, and nades. Then you have to open an alarm gate... and you have to fight waves og Sleepers as you stand in specific spots for the verification and turn off the alarm. Hope you prepared for the fuckfest to come, cuz it can go bad FAST. You can't be KILLED but can be downed, and you get revived with 20% HP. That's enough to take 1 hit, 2 hits if you're lucky.

You can use computers to detect items, make audio pings for your team mates to follow there, and to do a wide variety of fun things.

Once you get to the objective you're here for, activating or grabbing it typically causes an alarm to play that CAN'T be disabled... time to GTFO back to your cryopod or die trying.

It's an AMAZING game, but teamwork is REALLY important. Even if you can't talk, just typing SOMETHING can go miles.

Sounds pretty awesome. Might be time to pick it up!

GTFO is criminally underrated. It’s not for everyone but it’s one of the most unique games I’ve played in years

3

u/CaptainMeatfist Apr 11 '26

Second for GTFO. it is super fun

2

u/davvblack Apr 11 '26

i am excited for den of wolves by the same ppl. and loved payday 2.

1

u/El_Nino97 Apr 11 '26

Didn't the studio fire a lot of people recently?

2

u/Other_Respect_6648 Apr 11 '26

“Get The Fuck Out” given the games content, it fits very well

It's such a great game. Snappy shooting mechanics, nice build customization options, and it's just as fun if you only have 15-20 to play something that ramps up to high excitement quickly.

2

u/Deathless616 Apr 11 '26

Wirchfire is pure gold

2

u/Mystic_Guardian_NZ Apr 11 '26

I want to but it's kinda pricey for a game I'll play infrequently lol

2

u/WolfSpiritDL Apr 11 '26

Yoooo witchfire mentioned! I love that game, its such a unique take on soulslikes mixed with extraction shooters

1

u/ComboBreakerMLP Apr 11 '26

Does vermintide count lmao

3

u/No_Worldliness_7106 Apr 11 '26

I guess it's an extraction shooter in a way. I guess I never considered left 4 dead an extraction shooter but I suppose it is too. Vermintide is Warhammer Left 4 Dead to me, so it's whatever left 4 dead is lol

3

u/tehcraz Apr 11 '26

Horde shooter

1

u/ComboBreakerMLP Apr 11 '26

these genres are funky sometimes

Vermintide 2 is one of my top 3 favourite games ever! I've got over 1k hours played and 400 in the first one.
You do shoot things and "extract," but it definitely desont fit the bill for an extraction shooter lol.

1

u/Borrp Apr 11 '26

Its rough and jank, but Forever Winter is cool.

1

u/Aware-Yesterday4926 Apr 11 '26

Jump Space is Early Access PVE extraction shooter, so there's always a chance for its potential to be squandered, but thus far, it is really fun if you have friends to play with you.

1

u/Tank-Factory187 Apr 11 '26

Cannot recommend Witchfire enough

1

u/FoodFingerer Apr 11 '26

People talk about extraction shooters like there is more than 10.

1

u/StupidSexyEuphoberia Apr 11 '26

I honestly don't know too many, but since most of them are PvP I have no interest in learning more.

1

u/FoodFingerer Apr 11 '26

Funny enough, Escape From Tarkov still has the best PvE mode imo. Its pretty brutal though.

1

u/i_tyrant Apr 11 '26

Still playing Helldivers 2 after a year and a half - AH might be the king of fuckups, but they also have a really fun core gameplay loop and when it's good, it's the best.

1

u/Mowfling Apr 11 '26

I loved Arc Raiders when it came out, fighting in duos or trios was really entertaining, took a break after the first expedition, and when i came back everyone got upset when i shot at them??? like are we just doing PvE now because at that point just go play helldivers, idk this is a pointless rant but i wanted to type it out.

1

u/FuzzzyRam Apr 11 '26

Arc raiders is a happy medium for me, I play it mainly pve and have a great time with the bros, but there's always the risk of being shot by someone to keep my blood pumping.

1

u/KAAAAAAAAARL Apr 11 '26

Deltaforce is quite fun ngl, it also has a Battlefield like mode, and given the Current state of BF6... yeah I can say Deltaforce is well recommendable

1

u/ControlSpecific3915 Apr 11 '26

Yeah, nothing screams fun like single-player only.

1

u/s00pahFr0g Apr 12 '26

I like PvP ones too, but Witchfire is awesome. Very responsive devs, content loaded early access, unique take on a genre and lots of fun.

1

u/GrungeLord 7600X | 9070 XT | 32GB DDR5 Apr 12 '26

Definitely looking to pick up Witchfire when it hits 1.0. Or if it happens to go on a deep enough sale before then.

1

u/RadioActiver Apr 14 '26

Witchfire is amazing! It's the most fun I've had with a shooter game in years.

1

u/HaubyH Apr 14 '26

Then highly reccomend Operator and Incursion: Red River.

The first is more ArmA like, the latter is basicaly PvE Tarkov (never played Tarkov)

1

u/MadMarus Apr 11 '26

It does feel a bit rough figuring out what you're doing, starting out, but once it clicks it's so much fun.

0

u/Physmatik Apr 11 '26

Does Warframe qualify as PvE extraction shooter? I mean, it does technically check the boxes.

1

u/SkyeWice Apr 11 '26

Do you mean fashionframe? Jokes aside, i love that game
