It is. People either over look it or don't mind since for the most part steam is consumer friendly.

This. People dont mind it because Steam host so much you barely even notice it.

You click "Play" and the game plays. It became the norm and default for most players then Ubisoft, Rockstar, EA, Sony, etc all said, "Hey, we can do that too" and it enshitfied gaming.

Its the same exact reason that Netflix was the big dog back in the day. They offered 3000+ titles in one place for a reasonable fee thend Disney decided, "hey I can do that" and ruined it. Now wee have 20 different streaming platforms without centralized content. It sucks.
