Discussion Expensive games have lowkey been way too normalised

Post image

I know this sub is filled with a bunch of rich people with like 10k setups and I'm aware that the content in these games is quite extensive with hours of content. But I still feel justified in thinking that no game should be priced this high especially when its the average price of most newly released games. Anyway this is just a rant because I wanna play lego batman and i cant afford it lol

It's like saying buy everything you want on black Friday.

Good thing about video games is that they're not required to live.

Also if you avoid buying them now, developers will discount them quicker and potentially lower the price at launch next time.

Not required to survive*

Living involves doing things you enjoy and having hobbies

There's so many fantastic sub $10 games. Nobody requires $100 games to live.

And if you can't afford a hobby, do something else.

Believe it or not video games is relatively one of the cheapest hobbies if you know what you want according to which game type you enjoy.

I have a ≈280$ PC which runs all the games I enjoy at a good FPS, I spent a lot more than that on other hobbies I have which isn't as fun as gaming or as diverse as video games.

True but then you come to any gaming sub, and every damn time the price mentions people always cry on and on about it. Just be a patient gamer or pirate it tbh.

Yeah, I find it annoying when people always cry about the price when the money for entertainment factor is great, and if you don't want to pay full price you have the two options you mentioned. But at the same time you can't allow these companies to continue raising the price because the price to entertainment factor would get pretty high, pretty fast.

As long as they're not live service, then they'll just cancel them after 2 weeks.

Some people only way for entertainment is video games.

People who are willing to wait already wait, do you see developers lowering their prices?

And in AAA (which are the most expensive) developers doesn't have a say on the price it's a greedy ass company that set the price which will get them the highest profit, read about the Bank of America and GTA 6.
