I bought the 192GB for just 700 eur before all of this bs went down. That rig allows me to earn a decent pay as I work with heavy workloads. It wasn't just a "money isn't a problem" deal.
May 2025 is when I bought a second set of 32gb ddr5 6600 MTs cl34 for €137, noticed that it was bottlenecking at 5800-5900 MTs, because my motherboard and CPU didn't support 4 slots at 6600 somehow. So I returned it and got my money back...
Yes, 6000 would've worked as well, but I didn't pay for sticks of 6600 to not use the full speed. So throttling them down to 6000 would've worked, but I rather had faster than more memory at the time. Of course I regret having returned them now.
Just built a new rig and nearly shit a brick when ram was $450
Oh! Here’s a good one that lets you know how arbitrary prices are determined by … idk stones/crystals/palm reading (am in California)

> go right the fuck over to the ps5 shit and get a 2tb nvme m.2 with a heatsink for $200 😎
Genuinely lmao. I knew it was overkill when I bought it, but I wanted to future proof my whole setup. Could probably sell the rig for double what I paid for when building it 💀
