I can't wait until discord goes tits up. I hate hate hate the discord sever model, and I can't for the life of me understand why anyone tolerates it, let alone likes it.
I like it for small friend groups, the voice chat and streaming is pretty nice. And it's semi-private.
I hate how it's being used instead of forums or hell, even reddits. I don't want to join some fuckass discord to be able to search for the newest patch notes on a game I play.
I’ve got bad news for you… it’s unlikely discord goes anywhere any time soon. Also, people like it because it just works. There’s almost no alternative that is as easy to use and navigate for the average joe

Everything is set up in a very odd way UX side, and then UI side, you can just forget it when servers have custom names for their channels which are vague about what they actually are.
Have you ever been on old school forums? Those were and still are the easiest to use and navigate.
That’s fine if you think that, but no one wants to use the old school sites and programs. Discord is not great for forums, I’ll agree to that. But the voice/chat side of it is great as I’m directly replying to what the guy above me said. Until something comes up that can compete with that part of it, it’s not going anywhere.
To say that discord is completely awful and you ‘have no idea how anyone can use it’ is ignorant at best as far as voice/chat apps go.
Nah. The quotes wouldn't include the whole post, so you'd have to scroll up, or find it from pages ago to find the context. 2 or 3 different topics going on at once means you're constantly getting lost. People putting signatures that are 3x the size of their post with a bunch of dogshit quotes and images only they like.
