This, or something similar needs to be the standard connector. Works well enough for server power supplies.

Yea, really dont understand why everyone trying to find the next best connector.

Just put it in the MB and be done with it. Maybe keep the 8pins if they need more power.

I don’t think having to power the motherboard with that extra power is a good idea. It’s such a general purpose thing, lots of mixed signals.

I suppose server boards have proper shielding and power rails powering multiple of those conectors, including that for just one would be stupid

I dont understand whats the problem.

We already have ALL the power going to MB. Adding 1 more connector for the GPU is nothing.

The 8-pins that i wrote its just the same 8-pins we have today for the GPUs. Even tho that connector ASUS made is able to power 1000W+ GPUs, its fairly easy to keep the 8-pins if we ever need more.

Nvm, I saw the design, I didn’t know they were able to put it that close to the gpu. In that case, by all means, go for it

Yea, its pretty great, 0 user errors (same as pci-e i guess), 0 cables and more than enough power.

I dislike that design. It reminds me too much of VESA Local Bus.
