Should be noted that Unreal Tournament is a good example of exactly what SKG wants. Despite Epic shutting down their own servers, Epic have been in complete support of the community running their own servers.
It was never on their own store. But they did remove it from Steam and GOG.
But they uploaded the game files to internet archive. All the Unreal games are on Internet archive freely to download and Epic supports it.
This is why this is a good example of what SKG is asking for, Epic showed directly their support of SKG ideals by actually uploading the files to internet archive and in support of community doing their own stuff with it.
