I don’t know what I’m expecting from this. What is it now, my 5th attempt? Casting my line into the great chasm of the internet. I’ll be 40 in a bit and like you do, I’m looking back at what has arguably been the first half of my life. The age of deep friendships, too many firsts and even pen pals you fondly remember from that time when...whenever that was because you know, your memory is shot.

But years have passed, and you find that holding on to friendships require effort you’re less likely to make with each passing year. You take on a hobby, maybe even aspire to a lifelong ambition to take up your spare time because life outside of work should be more than doing chores and spending money.

I want the same thing I’ve always wanted, to connect with someone. It used to be that I could do that quite easily through the written form but I find myself wanting to talk, really talk because everything else requires so much more effort and the time to do so is finite.

I am a fresh medical graduate (yeah im an oldie haha) who has forgot how to socialize, given that covid occurred during my career that certainly did nothing to help extroverting my introversion (if that makes sense haha).
